So this is a weird time in the world, isn’t it? Our app development team is now working from home, and by “working” from home... I mean they keep sending me requests to play Words With Friends over Facebook. One of them ran out of toilet paper and they STILL got this update through - and for that, I am actually proud.
Ten imaginary points if you can guess the update? Yep... that’s right... BUGS... it’s ALWAYS bugs. We’ve fixed some of the bugs. Is it too much to ask the team to bring something different to the table?

Great! New Boost!!!
So far, I’m very pleased to see iPhone X support finally, upon launching this new update (ver 3.0) and secondly so glad to see the red dot notification bugs squeezed out from long ago (that’s carried across many updates) from those $5 Tuesday days, good riddance!
This new version has a fresh and clean look about it and is smooth, some new feature additions that I’ve not seen before, like adding a credit/debit card for online ordering, but maybe has room for further improvements by adding PayPal as a payment method for the Vibe Cash Pre-Pay feature, and the ability to add more then one debit/credit card to your profile but over all I’m impressed, so far!
The new version of boost takes a few steps forward in terms of bug fixing (finally fixing the logout issue is great!) and a number of steps backwards in terms of UX. As a developer I get it, UX is hard. But the new interface is confusing and loses out on features that I actually liked. For example, we lose categorisation of drinks and new/popular tags which was actually kind of nice. The new pictures just show the top of the smoothie which really doesn’t help when I want to know the ingredients at a glance. The old app made the selection much more obvious at a glance although the search is nice. Next, the gestures are confusing - the flow throughout the app is inconsistent and confusing in terms of gestures like moving from swipe to tap to swipe between different screens. The layout is confusing and the green branding was replaced by a generic white background and hard to read font. The store finder is barely usable if you actually wanted to find a store that wasn’t the closest. Why is there even a separation between drinks and smoothies? Why is there a bitcoin price tracker of all things built in as a contest? Why is the copy sickeningly sweet and ‘funny’? It’s a good attempt to try and revamp the app but it got worse in a lot of ways in my opinion. Sure, maybe I am being a bit bit picky like meg from Melbourne (I wonder if she’s happy with being called out like that!) but why settle for such an obvious downgrade in UX?
Worst experience today
So today my girlfriend and I went to boost juice in fountain gate, I ordered a pure Eden original size with lemon juice added, after waiting 10 minutes or so after everyone behind me had received their orders and also my girlfriend who ordered after me I asked them where my smoothie was and they had lost the order somewhere so after remaking it they then proceeded to fill the cup and then pour it back into the blender, the girl then added water to it so obviously they haven’t put enough ingredients into it, she then blended it up for the second time and handed me the cup which was still an inch empty, I gave it a taste and nearly threw up it was that disgusting. Watered down and all separated, without the added lemon juice I had paid extra for. I usually always get this when I go to boost and it costs me $9.70 every time. They gave me a free boost on us card for the next time due to how bad the service was, I have just arrived home to find it expired last month. I am extremely unhappy with how bad this experience has been and I doubt I’ll ever be buying from you again.
