Dan Murphy’s

I love shopping at Dan Murphy’s . I do all my shopping for alcohol there. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help. The staff approach you to see if they can help which is appreciated. Nothing worse is looking for a staff member for help and can’t find anyone like in other retail shops it doesn’t help for your shopping experience you just want to get out there. Customer always comes first if you didn’t have staff around you just don’t go back. Dan’s believes in customer service and they are great doing that. The staff are very informative which help when deciding what wine you need to go with certain food. The other thing I love about Dan’s is the online experience easy to find what you looking for and help is always there too. They have great pick up service you order online and it’s ready in 30 mins. I found it’s ready for pick less than 30 mins when I ordered items. The easy of driving past and haven’t time to go inside I go for quick pick up and the staff there too are very friendly as well. As far as I’m concerned other places can learn a lot from Dan’s about customer service. I know as I worked in retail all my life. GREAT WORK guys keep up the great work. Cindy

My happy place

You know the scene in Happy Gilmore when Happy goes to his “Happy Place”? Well, for me it’s not a golf course with a dwarf riding a tricycle dressed as a cowboy who gives me a kind head nod and waves; for me it’s Dan Murphy’s. They have a huge variety of selections, but not too many where you feel you’re overwhelmed by option paralysis. You can feel satisfied that you’ve had plenty to choose from and excited to get home and enjoy your purchase. I haven’t even mentioned the very fast and convenient click-and-collect option. Side note: he looks like he was Prime Minister of Australia - he’s got my vote. Not that I have given this much thought.

Consistently poor experiences

First time I had an issue, I considered it an honest mistake. My expected delivery with expedited order was not honored and only after raising an issue directly with them did they redirect my order to get where it needed to go just in time. They apologized and we both moved on.

This time, I placed an order for an item that was listed “in stock” on their site and told would be delivered to me by today, at the very latest. After multiple inquiries on my own time I was told, at the last minute, that actually the item—the entire reason I placed an order at all—was actually not in stock, would t be in stock, and was going to be cancelled and refunded instead. I wonder what would’ve happened if I hadn’t hounded them. And that says nothing of the extra business they got out of me on an empty promise of “in stock” items that I waited on, and could’ve ordered from more reliable businesses.

The “fool me once” adage rings true, but this time I’m done for good.
