Some leads the app provides are missing vital information. You need to decide if you want to pay to find out those details. Like single or double storey, size of jobs etc. the must ensure customer enter required info. I use for external cleaning and the information with the leads is minimal and for that reason I will not renew. It is also common for jobs to be left up and after you pay for the lead details and call the customer, they inform you that the job has been assigned and completed but still live on the app. And be careful because they try lock you into a contract before you get a chance to see the lead quality. That said, there are leads and might be more suited to other industries.

The software and design of the app in general is awesome source for tradesman or contractors to make money!Although small things need refining within the software itself, such like a strict “job leads description” from clients/customers looking for work to be completed.I have noticed several times a job lead would cost certain amount for a job that has no description of what is needing to be done, no pictures of the area where the job will be completed. This makes it harder to accept a lead as you have no real description or idea how to quote on unless you accept the lead for however much and go and view for yourself!Also, refine the terms and conditions to job lead credits, and its expiry date. Seems a bit unusual for a credit to expire when the subscription for the software is a locked in contract, and the damage for credit to not expire would seem to have no affect on the company(hipages) itself, as generally job leads do not tend to exceed $100 very often.I find that myself, as a tradesman testing/trialing through hipages, has proven to be a resourceful stream of income, but a better insight to the price of job leads need to be updated as several times I have read over job descriptions, and the price to accept has been a substantial amount for something that seems to have no real amount of profit for the business

If any consumer ever wonders why the price of trades and other skilled labour is so expensive, the answer is simple, Hipages and similar platforms have raised their prices to the point that it can no longer be absorbed by the businesses who use their services, and unfortunately those costs must now be passed on to customers. It is more than common place now for a job lead to cost a business between $70-$110 each via Hipages, keep in mind that is just for the pleasure of offering a quote to a potential client. I have never met a business owner who claims to win 100% of the quotes that are tendered, so that also needs to be factored into their pricing structure. My advice to businesses is to steer clear of this platform. My advice to consumers is to hire a local business without engaging platforms such as Hipages, you can easily locate the business type you need via the internet, social media and good old fashioned word of mouth, which in my opinion is the most reliable way to find an professional, honest and reliable tradesman.
