Fine unless phone dead or want iPad split screen

Netsee and Nextech SmartCam App Issues:
1. if landline phone off but wifi still going, cameras feed is dead - why?
2. app not supporting new split view, with say weather radar app up on left side and Nextech camera view on right side of iPad screen - why?

Apart from those issues, it is a great product because, with a decently sized SD card in the camera, I can reliably roll back the footage for a few days without needing to subscribe to any servers as is needed for most competitors. The newer version is 1080p too although it defaults to 720p. The 1080p model allows the user to speak to anyone in earshot in the camera's view via the Nextech SmartCam app too, although not with the 720p model.

Marginalised people do try to steal the camera reaching over the man high fence - so you do need to fully bolt it down and alarm it via say a Red Shield Door/Window Alarm (Model SST 09 say) rigged to sound a siren if the camera is jerked. Perhaps functionality could be built into a future version? The hardware already includes a speaker and maybe a sudden change in the whole picture alignment could trigger a siren?

Too difficult considering it is 2020

I have spent an inordinate amount of my day attempting to set this camera up using my iPhone/iPad. It appears to be linked to the wifi but I can’t see it on the software. The app tells me, incorrectly, that there is no SIM card installed.
When so much of what we have is wifi connected this should not be impossible. I suggest you shop around for a more reliable, easy to use product

Not bad for the price

Purchased to keep an eye on my dog during the work day.
Was fairly easy to set up, took a few tries to sync with my phone/wifi but got there in the end. Whilst trying to get a good camera angle the wifi kept dropping in and out, forcing me to restart the camera but once that was screwed in place i have had no issues with signal or dropping out. Video quality is good for what it’s worth!
