Better design but less intuitive UI
I’ll start with the positives. The design is definitely more modern, more key information on the home page and the rewards are more prominent.
However, it is harder and less intuitive to find key information. I also struggled to find my remaining limits until I read a response to another review. The previous app also allowed me to view claim history by member instead of a mixed bag with my partner. The preview only says “extras”, total cost and benefits paid (with the exception of dental). It’s difficult to find at a glance what the service was and who it was for. If we could get the services listed up front, and perhaps a filter on claims that would be helpful.
Rewards are a nice to have but my health insurance information is a must have!

New version hard to navigate
Previous version was much easier to navigate. Have just used the new one for the first time. Easy to make a claim as before. I wanted to see if I had any funds left for optometrist or dental for this year. Couldn’t find it. Same thing was very easy on old version. Feeling frustrated.

18 months ago, after being with NIB for 4 years I can conned by one of those commission-based ‘comparison’ companies into leaving for HCF because they were slightly cheaper.... easily the worst decision I made that year. After such a terrible experience with HCF, mainly because there is no good way to get transparency into your limits, usage, and general coverage for extras (not even when you spend hours on the phone with their customer service), I literally have returned to NIB purely for the app. The fact that I get COMPLETE transparency into my limits and what I’ve used for the year is worth a few extra bucks a month.
