Using the app
Once onboard, connect your device to the onboard wireless network in 3 simple steps:
1. Turn on Flight Mode.
2. Enable Wi-Fi and connect to the Q-Streaming or Qantas Free Wi-Fi network.
3. Launch the Qantas Entertainment App.
The Qantas Entertainment app is best enjoyed on a tablet device. Please remember to charge your personal device and to bring your headphones.

After waiting 30 mins into the flight to have WiFi found that the app is complete rubbish. App is loaded in my phone, but keeps taking me to a Qantas website that endlessly keeps requesting me to load the app each time i select something to watch. After the 10th loop of this frustrating request....gave up. Bring back the in seat screens!! If you are going to offer service make sure it at least works better than the one you have taken away!!
New update does not work
New update to this app doesn't work. After making sure I had the most update version of this app two days before departure. Couldn't watch anything on my flight. After selecting a movie and having to sit through the adds, the app kept crashing and trying to load the movie. After several attempts of trying to reload, I had to watch the adds over and over again. After asking the air hostess they had no idea and said everyone else's apps on the plane are working. Same thing happened on my daughters app too. Seems you need a new device with the latest iOS update as well, which discriminates against people who have older devices.
Poor form Qantas. I had a very boring flight.
Bring back the screens in the back of the passengers seats so we don't all have to stuff around with apps that don't work.
Needs more development and back end stability with the media server
I love Qantas, they are truly a great airline. However I have found the app to be a pain in the proverbial. It appears it often drops the connection to the media server. It’s as though the WiFi or the media server are regularly overloaded. The server probably requires more packet receive buffers, RAM and processing power. But the end user experience is very frustrating and it makes the service appear very substandard. Please do some user acceptance testing at full aircraft capacity as soon as you can, as end users must find this process and the ‘klunkiness’ of the connectivity and media playback parts of the app, to be quite painful, I know I do.
