It’s a great concept to get people motivated to move, sadly the app has a few flaws. Location services need to be on all the time which drains the battery. Wouldn’t make more sense to connect the app to the Health app data or other fitness apps where it could pull the information on activities which is more accurate ? Additionally, the app constantly class the bike journeys as car, guess on the false assumption that cyclists can only go super slow. The window to confirm the activities is not long enough especially if you finished them in the evening as the app automatically refreshes overnight and then you wake up in the morning seeing the cycle journeys marked forever as car. In overall the app is good but the battery drainage and incorrect labelling of ones moving effort are infuriating

Update: if you have issues with your tracks not syncing or uploading to confirm activities, the system will auto confirm usually the next morning or evening- however! The app has confirmed my bicycle journeys as a car. So now the data collected is rubbish lol There’s no way to request amends to confirmed tracks. Shame- Found this app useful - collecting tickets & sometimes winning points that have been converted into ££ vouchers whilst doing our thing. Opportunities; Why does the question about a bike journey only ever give the option for alternative trip to a car? What about tube, bus or walk? Wonder if that data isn’t needed, just car journeys changed? Server sometimes takes a long time to catch up with a journey made, not sure why? Survey on iPhone iOS isn’t working for me, so can’t participate. It closes immediately on opening the survey in feed. Looking forward to some improvement's. Think I’m done allowing my data to be tracked to be in the chance of winning or earning something. There isn’t any benefits for continuing to use this, so it’s goodnight from me. I’ve enjoyed using this app for years and especially early on was very pleased with the amount of points it bestowed and what I could buy with them, however a consistent theme has been a decrease in the points awarded to the point now where you seem to earn no points at all for activity, only tickets for entry into a prize draw where you MIGHT win them. As someone who’s just short of 5,000 points this is quite irritating as I’m so close to being able to redeem them. Now I’m reduced to hoping I win a draw at some point, but even if I do, I’ll always just be just short of £10 worth of points and so on. The points I had are almost worthless in essence. I’ve nevertheless been earning tickets for several months now but haven’t won a draw. I do wonder what my odds are now of getting any more points again. My understanding is that other schemes that reward activity are available and having been happy with BetterPoints for some time, I fear my only option is to investigate these alternatives.

This is a great app to record your walking, cycling and running. You earn points every time you record your exercise and earn tickets to be entered into weekly and monthly draws. Once you earn enough points - which stack up very quickly- you can redeem vouchers from as little as £2 for most high street retailers, or you can donate your points to a local or regional charity. Using the app encourages you to use the pop up lanes that have been created due to COVID and has encouraged us a family to discover routes we didn’t know existed. BetterPoints also adds different challenges for you to join which records environmental info in your area and questionnaires that can also earn you points. If you walk and cycle anywhere you should be using this app.
