Google Drive – online backup 4+

I love google drive, docs, sheets etc…

My daughter introduced me to google drive and docs years ago and I’ve not used anything else since. I love it!!!! It has all the abilities of other systems including much more costly ones like Microsoft office but is so much more convenient being able to save many versions, not worrying about saving regularly incase something happens and work is lost (I’ve done this thousands of times on other systems and sometimes cried about it!!! ). Being able to share documents we can work on together and view my documents on my laptop phone iPad or anywhere in the world means not carrying equipment around, memory pens etc. It’s always there, updates and saves on the go. I’m retired now but wish I’d had this available when I worked running a busy research unit as it would have saved me so much time and issues and carrying. Give it try, I did and will never go back. xxxx
UPDATE 2023 - Using it more than ever, and love it more and more. Great way to sort all my docs together, in easy folders. App so easy to use and whatever device I’m on or wherever I am I can get hold of anything I need. It’s my lifeline, thank you GOOGLE.

GOOGLE ONE DRIVE

Getting simple answers has never been easy and especially as we age & have health problems makes even harder for all humanity. Past & present problems - services not available as I know from the developers to transfer files & folders to other cloud services or to move them from one to another. Recently made phone calls & had live chats with google experts and gave me the same answers and took them many hours to answer simple questions. I have an active google one subscription & thought I could move my stuff around from on place to another and that has never been the case. Anyhow I hope Google developers would improve the App somehow and deliver a more convenient & enjoyable way with many great features in the coming future as always stated over the phone , live google chats many times repeatedly said before after all that’s the sole reason I purchased it on monthly subscription. Help me & deliver more in the GOOGLE ONE APP and hear from you ASAP.

Great app badly let down by poor music player.

WHY DOES THE APP TAKE UP 2GB ON MY PHONE WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE CLOUD ???? Two issues: Firstly, the “list view” is universal across the app, meaning that I can either have all files and folders showing up in list view, OR all files and folders showing up in folder view. There is no in between. What I am wanting to do is half all folders show up as a square folder but inside them I want to be able to see all my files has a list of view. This currently cannot be done. Secondly, I was about to purchase the 200Gb plan for £25 a year because I want to save all my MP3’s on it rather than clog up room on my phone. But when I saw how basic and bad the internal mp3 player was I didn’t bother. No playlist, no favourites, no next/back button, no track listing without having to go back each time, no equaliser, and it just looks so basic. Truly awful. You’d think they would have built a really nice music player within the app. And I don’t want to have to play my MP3’s through a third party player for security reasons. Good price plans, but sadly let down by the horribly basic internal music player.
