Excellent app

I have not been able to get a working IHD from my supplier, issues with having meters that are SMETS1 which was remotely upgraded to SMETS2 BUT still couldn’t get an IHD to work. My supplier knows this but no action taken.
Thankfully this app provides timely information for gas and electric. Information is in kW and cost once you have entered your tariff. Data is yearly, monthly, weekly and by yesterday by the hour. A little improvement is necessary around the budget entered. Presently you enter your annual budget and the app divides this equally for each month which isn’t too much of an issue on my electricity but is incorrect for gas usage. I have communicated this to the app designer and hopefully at some point there will be an update. Any issues I have had I have had a very fast reply from support. Would recommend anyone to give this app a try. I haven’t tried similar apps, mainly because I have been very satisfied with this app.

Making account & settings very poor

Update: I’ve now received the information, by text, that we can now use an energy bill to sign up. I don’t like the implication by the developer below that I am stupid; this option wasn’t there when I was trying to sign up. And there was no indication before I would have tapped on a link that it was protected by Stripe. And since there was no transaction happening there was no good reason to give the financial details requested. “Seriously”. The only reason I’m upgrading my feedback to 3 stars is because they made this change. I often look through a few recent reviews of an app, and out of the ones that I’ve seen developers respond to I’ve never seen a response so rude as the one below. It’s a disgrace.
——
Like others have said, trying to make an account is a nightmare because the app wouldn’t accept the password even after I’d tried to get a new password, and when eventually I got a password accepted they then wanted my debit or credit card details. Seriously? Don’t they know that banks would consider this to be negligent behaviour? Never, ever give your credit or debit card details to anyone unless you’re making a financial transaction on a secure website. I used to be in the tech industry and I’ve never come across this sort of behaviour before.

Developer Response ,

If you worked in tech you know that the card sign-up process is 3D secure and managed by Stripe. Also, you can sign up with an energy bill as well as an alternative. Since we launched we made it very clear that we card process is managed by STRIPE and this is in BOLD letters before you sign up using this method.

Inaccuracies - but not Hugo’s Fault

Update - after review below Hugo got in touch and investigated the issues with the meter readings. Identified that meter has an issue and have reported on my behalf to the Data Communications Company in the hope that Eon will change them.

Only lost one star as it’s not possible Le to zoom in on the graphs making the 30min reads difficult to select to see each level.

Original - Not sure how or why, but this app and others like it seem to provide a different set of readings - talking about elec rather than gas. As gas meter has issue and won’t connect to the app and neither meter is not sending data to supplier - yet electric seems to report to here. How can two companies that say they use same data set of kWh use be different? And so very different from the readings in my meter. Manual readings show that I used exactly 11kwh on Sunday. This app shows 21kwh and another shows 18kwh. My meter ‘maybe’ reporting incorrectly to the DCC, but then why the different values to another app?? Engineers are coming to see meters the next few days to get gas working and will report this issue too to see if there’s a higher problem. Would rather not have the higher values being reported to supplier - they’ll double my bill.

Developer Response ,

Hi Tobias,
Glad we could help. You know you can zoom in on the graph by selecting the multi select button then highlighting the half hour period.
