Was a fine and useful app for keeping an eye on pension growth, but for the last week it just hangs while trying to load. Eventually says no internet connection, but every other app is working so that’s not true. Tried deleting and reinstalling but did not help. Can’t give stars for an app that won’t load.Update: Downloaded app update after developer response, but it has made no difference - still won’t load.Second Update: After 6 months the latest update seems to have fixed things at last. Back to being able to keep an eye on payments and performance with a handy app.

Unfortunately I’m enrolled with Scottish Widows for my workplace pension and have to say they are possibly the worst pension provider I’ve been with ever - this isn’t to say they are bad (hence the 2 stars) but they are the worst out of the providers I’ve had in the past, based on 2 factors;1) The app - the app is clean and minimalistic which generally I like, but not when it’s void of important information at a glance. For example I would love to see how much I’ve put in, vs the value of my pot to date on a line graph, right now I have to manually calculate it, there is such chart that exist but this is purely projection of what your pension COULD be worth, I want real time performance data of my pension to date.Secondly in the app, I have no idea what my pension is invested in, which is annoying considering that Scottish widows pension seems to be massively underperforming, the growth is minimal to questionable, which brings me onto my final point.2) Performance - in comparison to my partners pension, my managed pension and one other pension I haven’t consolidated, Scottish widows is by far the worst performing pension I have ever had, I have no idea what they are investing in, which would be nice to know, but it’s rubbish - many of my colleagues have tried this year to persuade management to move our pensions to another provider, but we failed, probably because SW is the cheapest option -_- and for good reason.

The Scottish Widows app lacks basic transparency by not displaying the number of investment units in my pension. Unlike apps such as Vanguard, which clearly show unit holdings, this app only displays a total value with no breakdown of how that figure is calculated.Without seeing my unit holdings, I have no way of tracking how my pension is actually growing—whether I’m gaining more units or just seeing changes in value due to market fluctuations. This is fundamental information for anyone managing their pension, and its absence makes the app feel frustratingly opaque.Scottish Widows needs to fix this and provide a clear, itemized view of investments. A pension isn’t just a number—it’s made up of actual units, and customers should be able to see exactly what they own. Until this is addressed, the app remains far behind competitors in transparency and usability.

I am genuinely wowed by the Scottish Widows app! 🤩 I’ve experienced and used quite a number of apps, particularly within financial services, but this one beats the majority of apps I’ve experienced.The most relevant features are immediately visible, and each page opens so seamlessly that it almost feels as though the app senses your touch a nanosecond before you click! 😂 The interface is incredibly smooth, intuitive and responsive.What impressed me even more was how easy it was to complete my pension transfer. I completed the entire process in less than three minutes! That level of simplicity and efficiency is seriously impressive.I also love the colour palette and overall tone of the app. It’s bright, fresh and visually appealing without being overwhelming. The whole design feels sophisticated while remaining incredibly user-friendly.It honestly looks like millions of pounds must have been invested in creating such a brilliant digital experience. Bravo to the developers and everyone behind the design and overall look of this app. 👏🏽 You’ve absolutely nailed it!
