Easy to open, high interest rates, no charge for using card abroad, however, the app and features available are very basic. no easy way to pay in or pay someone, can not save people you pay. Virtual cards available. Can not search for a transaction. no isa, no overdraft, just current account or savings account. like many of the online only banks, can only be used on one device. support is available only from monday to friday 9-5, you email them to arrange a callback, in app support is in the works.

Convenient basic banking

So far I have had no issues with this bank in terms of deposits and withdrawals. It’s fully regulated & FSCS backed, so I’m confident my money is safe. The app provides simple basic banking in a clear format, though I’m using it primarily to hold savings due to the favourable interest rates at the moment. What is letting it down currently is the support side, which is by email, and so far unresponsive in my case. Having read other reviews, I would not yet feel confident to use it as my main bank for regular transactions/direct debits etc. I know it’s early days and improvements/updates are ongoing, but the bank must be missing out on millions because of relatively cheap improvements that could be made to the ux/ui. I would like to see my balance and account details on one page for instance. Hopefully I can give it five stars soon once it’s effectively supported.

No warning, just blocked my card and locked me out my app. No phone line and a 4 day wait on an email responce. This is third world banking and read all the negative reviews before you trust thus lot with your money. It has good interest until you want to move money out to your linked U.K. bank. Forget it. It happened 2 months ago and all I got was fill out a form and we will get back to you in a day or 2. Try 4 days. I was trying to buy a car. Now again yesterday trying to move money to buy something again and I’m now locked out. Suspicious activity!!! I’m moving money to my one and only U.k linked account!!! Again please send us an email and we will get back to you next week as it’s now Friday and we don’t work weekends. I’m closing this account down. A bit less interest elsewhere but at least I can access it or phone someone to unblock my account.

I have been with LHV for 5 months now and they have not disappointed. Interest rates for current account and savings are really good and its a good bank to be with if you wish to earn interest on high balances. Customer service may be a little bit slow at some times, no standing orders yet, faster payments sent on weekends may not be processed until the next working day, however, they are still an upcoming bank and still improving. Overdrafts should be offered very soon as well and I am very excited to see what else LHV have to offer in the future.
