Both virgin Atlantic and virgin red apps have been updated, and now both restrict viewing to a narrow display in the middle of the screen. This was obviously designed to be used on an iPhone with little thought about other devices. Unfortunately you are given no choice especially as the new app doesn’t give any additional benefits than before

I’m actually quite a big fan of the service that Virgin Atlantic offer. I have flown with them properly two or three times to America from the UK.However, the update and subsequent needs to move to a new app seems completely unnecessary. Almost every single part of this app takes you to an external website which goes to the Virgin Atlantic flying club page , which sort of defeats the objective of having an app which should stay within the application and not to the external pages.A couple of pros, however : you can now see your vouchers within the app or the all this does is take you to the voucher page on the website which again refers back to my previous point and the activity page can also be seen now because this was erroring in the application before . Same issue though it just takes you to the page itself opposed to any in app activity.If this was to be fixed and was to only show within the app but I feel this would be a welcomed improvement but currently this is not the case and it feels almost silly switching to this now
Mobile Boarding Pass expiry timescales

Is there a chance the developers could review the length of time a boarding pass issued through the app stays active in the wallet for? It was a week for passes issued by the old app - which itself was far too long compared to others airlines. With the new app, I can still see my boarding pass for a flight I took over a week ago.

I’m travelling every 2 weeks so I know the old app worked. This new one is good looking but totally useless. First, everything takes so long to load.I haven’t been able to check in once on this app. No amount of pithy ‘we hit a bit of turbulence’ error messages make up for how bad this app runs.Compare that to the Delta app that has more useful features and runs faster. Why don’t you just ape that one instead of spending loads developing something that doesn’t work as well as an alliance partner.Thank god the old Virgin app is still live. It might be just as slow but at least it works!
