Got there eventually...!

Had some serious issues registering the app. Called the Helpdesk who had no idea what to do and decided to log it as an IT fault for investigation, however, still not heard from them.

However, decided to request the “Grid Card” and once I had this (and used the Grid Card to register the app) hey presto! It worked. So overall pretty happy now am finally able to use the app, but might be worth advising your staff to recommend the Grid Card first if any customers have same issue as me, as this was the only way it would work.

Improved but could be much better

Finally Skipton have caught up, a little bit with other finance apps, and I like the straightforward layout.

Improvements could be made, for instance being able to open new accounts/products within the app instead of transferring back to desktop.

Also, a huge trick Skipton are missing here are linking an ISA or other savings account with my debit card to “round up the change” on daily transactions and transferring it to savings. Having said that the round up would definitely need to be instant on my current accounts instead of the biggest con (with other providers) which take days to take the cash leaving customers unable to budget efficiently.

I can confirm features such as opening new accounts is a feature we hope to add in the future and we currently have no plans to round up transactions but I am more than happy to pass this on to our development team to consider for future updates.

Modern, fresh and visually pleasing.

Great app and visually pleasing. Love opening to see the wee fishes. The ISA breakdown is great showing remaining isa allowances, amount deposited in the current tax year etc.

If only Skipton expanded their service and offered debit/credit card accounts, I’d do all my banking with them.

Suggestings for improvements...the Lifetime ISA help tap on the home page which explains the HMRC bonus and conveyancing when buying a property etc (although very helpful) perhaps allow this to be removed from the accounts homescreen once read and relocated to a help section when you open your account summary of the LISA or under a separate tab/ general help section tab and FAQ.

Perhaps also the news section (update) which is on the home screen “coronavirus update” could be ‘x’ (hide) when read and found for future reading ins designated news tab.
