iPhone 12 Pro Max - using to do doc upload for job.

Got through to the bit where it was asking me to scan my passport nfc chip. Pressed to do so and it just got stuck repeatedly saying I don’t have the app and to download and then come back. Thankfully a previous reviewer had posted up their advice that you will need to start again, shut the app completely by swiping up from bottom of screen and closing and then restart your phone. Once I did that it worked, although for the passport chip part you have to put your phone against the photo page. Seems as though plenty of others having issues with this app, and this might help someone else in the future. If the app worked as it should do then great idea, but this is a pretty major bug that will presumably throw a lot of people.

Sadly, this was supposedly my only option as an in person ID check would involve a 3 hour round trip (not even available at the NHS trust I was joining).

But I did get it to work eventually and so I’m sharing to help other future frustrated NHS workers…

First I downloaded with my google pixel smartphone, which didn’t work. I got the step 3.

Then I tried using my iPad (I don’t own an iphone).

I got further on my iPad, it accepted the photo of my passport and selfie worked ok, but then wouldn’t get past the bit when the chip reader opens (step 5 I think).

So I did all the steps recommended including uninstalling and reinstalling the app, closing the app, restarting my iPad. Used the chrome browser. And that still didn’t work. Then I went back to my smartphone, reinstalled the app, restarted the smartphone, used the chrome browser…. And it worked!

What a piece of sh#t software. It probably took me 3 hours to do this on my holiday. All so that I can prove my ID to a trust that I used to work at for 6 years. What’s wrong with just showing your passport at the interview!!?

This app is so frustrating! I even called Trust ID for help today, they explained that it needs to be connected via a chrome browser (rather than safari which is on my iPhone) it did connect once but since the one time it worked it just will not connect! Ive tried more than 20 times! I agree with the previous review, why does the NHS use this when it’s rubbish?! Very frustrating. I will probably need to drive 45minutes to show my documents instead🙄😠
