Please make the 9 o’clock news more accessible

Can we have one hot button for the 9Pm News?

I’m Irish and I live abroad and regularly watch the 9 o’clock (pm) news in the morning of the following day while walking on the treadmill.
However I always have to go into the browser and type in news and then select which news I want to watch. It would be much easier if there was a hot button to press which brings you directly to the most recent 9 o’clock news. The “RTE news now” is great but the live button mostly broadcasts Euronews, but the Nine O’Clock news is what sums up the previous day at home and what happened.
It would really help to allow expats to keep abreast of things.

I rarely watch anything else!

Thank you.

Awful, write to RTÉ & TDs to complain of waste of licence fee

Possibly the worst media player available, RTÉ moved from a sometimes glitchy player to a branded skin over the previous (hugely complained about) TV3/Virgin player. However the performance is significantly worse than that virgin iteration of the app. Huge battery drain, ads audio plays in background while show is streaming, app has no effective tracking of how much of an episode you have watched or where you might be in a series, it frequently clears the list of programmes you have marked as favourite, often crashes, has poor rewind/fast forward capabilities. All core functionality, I cannot understand how the developer’s services are retained after consistent failure to deliver a viable product to meet what should have been basic contract provisions. It’s a shame, I don’t agree with general RTÉ bashing about content, there is quite a lot of good and important programming, I just wish I could watch it

Appalling service in RTE APP

App is almost useless was down most of yesterday and now just keeps stops loading in playback. What the point of having this app when it just frustrates people trying to watch playback. I see u have an international app If it’s as bad as this one it’s a waste of time and money. We go on about being a country of technology the future internet etc but when we can’t even manage an app that is reliable it’s a very bad sign. Even Virgin Media now have a better app and can can please get rid of that blue screen with the horrible noise which goes on for about 5 minutes. RTE never used to have this annoying break. Virgin Media started that with a red screen and RTE copied. If u want people yo watch online TV as the future u need to start with a reliable app TG4 had the best app but so disappointed to c that it is changed and is now no good. Is the same people responsible for creating both apps.
