I hate the fact that the app always says to top up more money because of the possibility of cancellation or tolls. I am not able to fully utilise the money in the wallet and there will always be about $4 left in the wallet after they refund that additional charge after the ride. There is also no option to withdraw any amount and I am forced to top up the wallet in order to use the money that is inside and then be left with extra money inside that I cannot use in an endless cycle. People book Ryde because it is cheaper, however having to unnecessarily top up the wallet results in spending more money. For example, if you only have to top up $10 into the wallet for the ride, then realise that you cannot book because you need a little extra for the cancellation or tolls, you are forced to top up another $10 again. Also, if the extra money to put in is for the cancellation fee, can’t the money just be deducted from the ride fare and have less money be refunded to the customer? Is it also possible if you have a function to add card for additional charges? Would that not make more sense? Another problem is that sometimes you cannot book any rides at all because you have yet to review one of the past trips. It is okay if the review function pops up there and then for you to review and then book your ride. However, you will have to exit the screen and review before going back in. This means that you have to key in your ride details multiple times. The app is a bad user experience. Ryde would be a better ride-hailing app with the above mentioned problems resolved, I also have a suggestion to add clear description on the front page for the different types of rides instead of having to click each individual button to find out which will help new users. There could also be a quick tutorial when you first download the app. Thank you.
Drivers may try to scam you, customer support is trash

One time I accidentally booked for 1 pax instead of 2 pax out of habit as I have always taken the rides alone. I realised my mistake when the driver arrived so I offered to cancel but driver insisted that it is ok but requested us to pay him $4 in cash (Note: It is only a few cents difference to pick up 1 pax vs 2 pax). I did not pay the driver in the end because I didn’t carry cash on me. Driver also said ok no worries but to just rate him 5 stars. I apologised and thanked him for allowing my friend and I to ride. This driver then proceeded to rate me with a 1 star and complained that I booked for 1 pax and had 2 large bags with me??? Uh… excuse me? Since when was having luggage an issue when taking rides? What does he think a car is for? Wrote to customer service about the driver’s behaviour and asked them if it’s acceptable for drivers to be asking for extra cash from customers. Took them 4 days to respond to me with some generic copy and paste answer WITHOUT actually answering my question, then closed the ticket without resolving any of my concerns. Now I still have a few dollars left in my account, which I will use for my last ride with this crap company and then delete this app for good. Better off using other apps with 100% better customer service where you can actually get some response within the same day. Not 4 days later.
Rude driver + no customer service

I was with a friend and we wanted to book a 2-stop ride, our driver accepted but had difficulty finding us. We tried to locate him by calling him but he was very rude and dismissive - the map showed that he was on another street but he insisted it was on us to find him and that he refused to drive any further to locate us. This exchange was enough to make us want to cancel the trip but before we could, the trip was already started. The driver never came to pick us up yet my friend was charged for a trip that never happened? When we tried to call the driver again to clarify and confirm the cancellation he would either pick up to drop the call or ignore the call completely. Leaving this review because I am appalled at the quality of your driver(s) (I hope this was just a one-off?) and your lack of customer service. The app has no direct contact field or menu, only links to FAQs were available under RydeHelp. When I messaged the Instagram page I was told (through and automated messaged) to write an email instead and that I’ll only hear back in a few days. I really hope my friend gets a refund and clear explanation as to why this whole experience was so difficult and unpleasant! Thanks.
No respond from driver become my fault?

Booked ryde and there was a driver (i think her navigation got problem cuz the car in the map kept going around northpoint area), waited for the driver for 15 MINS but i was in a hurry so i tried to contact the driver, driver was uncontactable so i had to cancel and book a grab. Why is it that i have to wait for the driver for so long and to get deduction from my side? Your driver is uncontactable, texted her and no reply, become my fault? Eh like this i want to be a driver also, customer cancel still can get money out of it. The app don’t even bother to let users understand if the drivers need to send another customer to a location before coming to pick you up. Everytime the waiting time will be more than 5 mins if we cancel due to reasons like this, we still have to pay cancellation fee! Previously i feedback to the company but they put a bot to speak with me. Really, don’t use this app if you want to have the same experience as me and the others who gave a bad review.
