Problems with Transferring Money
I’m lucky to not have lost money over this, but this is something I have to say cause I really can’t stand it anymore. Every time I attempt to transfer money, the loading screen takes an infinite amount of time to load. I once waited 30 minutes for this but it still continued loading. This is usually the case when I’ve confirmed and entered the PIN, which makes it worse cause it’s so close to transferring money. I have to keep refreshing the app a couple times for it to finally work, and I tried deleting and re-installing the app but the same problem arose. OCBC, please fix this. The time it takes to transfer money from this app is enough time to find an ATM without directions and transferring from there
Slow, clunky and broken
The upgrade has added more bugs than it fixed. The app is super slow and missing a “back” button for many of the menus. Users have to navigate through the slow main menu and wait for the app to refresh the home screen every time it’s accessed (this can take up to 20 seconds).
Fingerprint service is still not working properly, yet you now have to go through the app’s fingerprint setup process before you’re informed the service is not available.
Savings goals are now very clunky to use. Adding or withdrawing funds from one will give an option to repeat the process for another goal. However this doesn’t work at all, as despite selecting a different goal (and that goal being displayed) the actual transfer will be applied to the original savings goal. Totally useless.
4/10 times the app is opened it insists on updating via the App Store, even though it is already the latest version. The option in the App Store is “open”, which opens the app again and directs back to the App Store for the latest update. Infuriating never ending loop! The only work around is to uninstall the app and download again through the App Store.
As this is the only mobile app for OCBC customers, there are no other options. This app is terrible at best and at worst can mess with your account in unpredictable ways without warning.
Best to stick to the web access.
I hope OCBC app team takes note on this “refresher” page.. Apple has an auto update feature, however, OCBC also has and update “refresher” page which is totally redundant and interfering with the daily usage, I have to uninstall the app and reinstall just to bypass the page. Happened a couple of updates past. It would also be useful for finger recognition to be able to proceed with other transaction rather than just view balance. If not, just remove the feature totally. Also, I understand the need for social security, however, there is no need to constantly request for OTP via text message, to login or to proceed with transaction, Etc. Just one OTP either at the end of a transaction or before log in would be sufficient and hassle free.
