UI flaw on small phones

Recently got this at work. Numerous failed attempts to “check-in” to the NFC station. The problem was actually the UI: I use a “small” iPhone SE, and the buttons at the bottom of the check-in screen were obscured. After fiddling around with it fit a while, I finally realized I had to scroll down to see the hidden check-in button that I had no idea existed. Once I found that, I was finally able to check in. Simple design flaw not scaling properly for different screen sizes.

User centric design is nonexistent in this app. The ideal scenario would be to offer Apple Pay integration so that the new user did not have to store their credit card details in this app and thus expose themselves to undue risk. Nevertheless, in the absence of Apple Pay, one would assume the developers would have done just the basics to ensure a positive user experience and make sure new users encounter as little friction as possible to get the app up and running. That doesn’t seem to be the case. Usually, when a form on a website or in an app asks for your credit card details, the developers will have labeled the form fields in the backend so that Apple knows what info is needed and can autofill for you, saving you time. Unfortunately basic field labeling seems to be missing in this app as well. It probably took me five minutes to find my credit card info and then manually enter it into the fields, just so I could be afforded the privilege of paying for my lunch. Even if they forgot to label the forms, they could’ve at least included a camera mechanism to take a photo of your card and read the info. Nope. That’s missing too. All I’m trying to say is this: the iPhone launched 15 years ago. There is no excuse for developers—no matter their hourly rate—to neglect these most basic features. Front end developers should understand basic customer experience principles and in turn implement the basic functionality. I wasn’t even going to leave this review— I added my card details long ago and moved on with my life. The reason I decided to come here today and write this review is because the Thrive app interrupted my focus at work by sending me a marketing push notification. If you have a great app, fine, I’ll let it slide and just switch off the notifications in my settings. However, on the other hand, if your app does not value my time and my experience, as demonstrated by a neglectful Ux, then I’m going to waste 30 minutes of my time to give my feedback.

It does connect you to shops around you and does allow limited variety of products you can order. The order history is not working and so if you have a favorite you still need to go through the menu and reorder. Also, many times I get notifications the order is ready and the order is was never received by the business….

Keeps changing my order!

I used to love this app for ordering food at our work cafeteria. But now, it keeps changing my order spontaneously! I always get a salad, and after I choose my toppings and save, I look back and a bunch of them have switched! There are things listed in my salad order that I don’t even like! (Yuck — beets!) I then try to edit, and discover the choices are now different. I make my selections, save, and — here we go again. A bunch of stuff is switched up. (What even is “mojo” dressing?) I do this a few times and it keeps changing on me. Eventually, I give up. Can someone fix this? It used to work so well! Thank you.
