Great help from a woman named honey. The last time I was stuck at the station here at New Leaf and Santa Cruz I think it’s 1005 Fair Ave.This time I got the charge start with my app on my phone, which was great and I think I saved on the Session fee. However, there is no receipt appearing on my phone nor is there a receipt on the machine. Also, it said to hit stop what I was done while I was at 98% and it was still charging and I didn’t see a stop button fortunately it finished charging and stopped on its own. Otherwise, I really wouldn’t have known how to stop it if I did need to stop it in the middle if I was in a hurry or something. So that is the good and the needing improvement. I would love to have a receipt on my phone or on the machine so I can keep track of. I would like to know how to stop the charge in the middle if I had to. However, this is a big improvement over my first experience of recent days here at this Charger. So keep up the good work and keep improving. Thank you.

Good App, Mediocre Chargers

I think this is a pretty good app but let me describe my charging experience just now… I pulled up to the 350 kW chargers, both said they were “In Use” but no one was plugged in and I couldn’t get either one to work. I reported the issue and decided to try the 50 kW charger with its built in Tesla connector that doesn’t require a Common Charging System (CCS) adapter. I plugged it in and my Tesla emblem went dark instead of turning green and my Model Y told me that there was no power available. I reported that issue and decided to try the CCS cable with my CCS adapter on the same station. After starting the charging session in the app, I connected the adapter to the cable and plugged it in and it finally started charging at 100 kW. I also have a physical EVgo RFID card that I’ve attempted to use on several occasions to no avail. The app seems to be the best option when the charger actually works. There’s also a CHAdeMO connector on the middle charging station but it has red tape wrapped around the handle where clearly doesn’t work. I didn’t even waste my time messing with that station. Overall, the app is better than the card but the stations routinely have faults and are clunky to operate in comparison to my experience at Tesla Superchargers. Buy a Tesla and use Tesla Superchargers. Put these other idiots and their CCS chargers out of business! Tesla Superchargers and Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) are vastly superior. I can’t imagine going on a road trip without it.
Rethink of EV

I just purchased my zdx Acura EV. Let me tell you if your looking for a sign of your not to sure to switch to EV this is your sign. DONT DO IT! I think EV cars could be better in the future once these stations are established more throughout cities and towns. I think EVGO and Electrify America needs better customer service. All employees don’t put attention towards their customers needs first. Everytime a station is down I have to call to let them know it’s down so they can fix it soon but it takes MONTHS for them to fix their stations. I am so happy I’m doing a lease with me car and can’t wait to go back to GAS!! I’m excited as soon as I leave the EV life. Also owners of EV are completely rude they like to steal spots when you’re waiting in line for a station. I just think I started too early for EV because DEFINITELY these charging stations need more regulations. All I gotta say is I hope whoever reads this hopefully changes your mind in getting an electric car. I’m saving you time and money for sure. PS the government only gives you a certain amount of money for your electricity once a year and I think it’s not enough plus if you pay out of pocket your still spending the same amount of money as an electric car. Lithium batteries are more harmful to the environment than gas just because once the car is no longer working they dump the lithium batteries in the ocean or somewhere in water and that’s horrible for us and the animals. Anyways god bless whoever reads this!
Charger has never once worked

I’ve used a public EVGo charger perhaps 5 times in the last few years. It has not worked even once. It usually hangs at the screen where it says syncing with the charger. I’ve had to call them, wait a few minutes, and on a few occasions, they’ve managed to manually turn it on. The only reason I’m even trying to use their charger is that I got $100 in charging credits when I bought my Nissan leaf. What a brilliant and deceitful move on their part! The standard charger is not compatible with a Nissan leaf! And when I use the fast charger, it docks me around $20 for an additional 120 miles of range. I could've got thrice the range filling gas in a Hummer. And what’s more, one time I was not able to pull out the charger after it finished charging because the lock was stuck and spent half an hour on the phone again with them. As far as the app goes, as they say, you can’t put lipstick on a pig. But somehow they’ve managed to make the whole experience even worse! You cannot stop charging using the app. You have to go to the charging station, find the stop button (which in itself should win you an award) and hit that well hidden button before pulling out the charger. Which means that anyone can unplug you! I do feel bad for the app developers because of how bad the underlying charging system is. So I’ll try to say one thing nice. The fonts and colors and the look and the feel of the app is fairly decent.
