I drive primarily in the mornings as I hate the hustle and bustle of kid pick up. Pick up for some schools is very organized while others are a free for all. This can cause tons of time as you try to locate the child. If you have a regular route you can alleviate some of this hassle. I’m cautious about my ride selection because some are super long and don’t really compensate you. If you have flexibility you can wait until the rides increase in fair. You’re taking a chance, but I make most of my money by doing this. I do like that they offer ride challenges on occasion which give you incentives for taking the lower paying routes. They do monitor your speed, turn radius and acceleration. This is tough because you know that almost all traffic flows 10 miles over the speed limit. So I try and keep it at 5 over which seems to be ok. Pay is weekly which is fine, but if you need cash sooner you’ll have to wait. It’s on a fixed day or every Wednesday. There’s no debit card option either. Not a big deal, but this is where they differ from other Rideshare companies. I’m on my second year and it’s helped me pay off a lot of debt. Finally, there aren’t any rides in summer so this is truly a school year job.

It’s a good company to work for for part-time, my bet . otherwise to work for full-time I believe it will be pretty much impossible some of the trips, long trips. I’ll be more happy to see more decent pay since the gas is very expensive and everything else for maintaining personal vehicle I understand everybody have to pay their own things insurance is already skyrocketing which some trips are really not worth it but overall it’s a good idea. Whoever got this idea to do help school children help that’s a good idea I’m a parent myself and I understand how important safety for the children and everything else, hopefully people get benefited but it’s only good for part time but then again prefer a little more better pay a list to get survival range thank you. The people who got this business idea it will help some people it’s kind of reliable I believe so as a new driver, myself, but then again one’s we minus the expenses and gas it’s not much left that’s all I can say but overall it’s a good business to work for!!!!

Support for drivers is NOT the best. I reported a flat tire instead of canceling the ride in order to get time to add air or replace the tire. I was instantly suspended from the account and all the rides I reserved were put back out to bid on by other drivers. I had the matter resolved in a few hours and submitted proof. I have not heard back from anyone with new information on being put back on the platform and it’s been 6 calendar days since. Lyft and Uber may not pay as much per ride but they will reply and take care of you far better than what I have experienced here with HSD. Getting signed up took forever and then you have to wait to get paid. Nah, it’s not something I would recommend for anyone else to deal with. But they want you to advertise on your car and wear the shirt. Then you get no answers or action when you need it. Just pushing a button to turn on my account seems too hard and takes too long for a review or answer. I’m still waiting to see if I will be able to drive again and if I’ll get time to complete the promotion that I would have completed that same day I was suspended and dismissed apparently from the platform. Only sharing my experience. You may have a better experience but they have a lot of work to do when it comes to communication with drivers for simple everyday issues. No daily payout in fact even with direct deposit it takes almost an additional week to see your money. I’m still waiting to see what happens next with my suspension and promotion. Ideas are only good when you can execute. They have driver support line and email that has proven to be useless this far. But again that just my “black experience”. 🧐
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS JOB, THE APP, THE KIDS

When I first found out about this gig, I was mind blown!! I never would have even thought of it myself (especially considering the world we live in). But HopSkipDrive does so background checks and has a beyond great system going that is fair to ever child and CareDriver. The kids are so sweet and respectful, the app uses my favorite way to get around Google Maps, and lets you know important things! Everything you need is all in the app!! I was nervous before my 1st ride, but once you keep doing it and get the hang of it, it helps. They have filters for you to adjust things that benefit you like distance and times. I love who created this app and very convenient way to transport kids and teens. From my experience, it really does help their families and makes you dependable. Love the app and kids and would not stop doing this.
