I have been using versions of this app for over 3 years. I set up different accounts to monitor different types of spending. I also made up accounts projecting my budget one month out and one year out, and also one for my fixed and variable expenses, and one for my savings goals. I check my bank account every morning over coffee (because I have been hacked a couple of times), and I reconcile my app totals to my bank. Once you get in the groove this is the simplest app I’ve found to use. I do wish I could make my paycheck land on Fridays when the 1st and 15th fall on the weekend, and that I could choose which accounts to include in the tally at the bottom of the main page, since many of my accounts are subsets or projections. There is probably a setting here I could be using to fix that. One of the most useful components is setting up monthly, bi-monthly and annual charges. I set the dates at my pay dates on the 1st and 15th, but put the actual due date in the heading (ex: Phone - 18th), and change the posting date to the due date when it shows up in my account. Nothing catches me off guard now. Not even annual fees for subscriptions and memberships. I don’t link any accounts to the app, to keep a firewall between my actual accounts, so I can’t speak to that as an option. I prefer to be in control of what I input. This app is simple, thorough and flexible. Highly recommended.
Like it a lot

I’ve been using this app and the prior version Accounts 2 for 9.5 years now. I like it a lot, it’s great for managing multiple accounts, all in one place and always with you. The only two gripes I have are: 1) sync issues - I can’t seem to keep my iPhone and iPad synced up. I work around it by always using my iPhone as primary, then manually update my iPad from time to time. 2) posting recurring items - post date vs. transaction date. It would be nice to have these as two separate dates when setting up recurring items, otherwise you always have to edit a posted item to the transaction date or have the item post on the transaction date. I choose to post at various days prior (depending on the amount) the transaction date so I can see something coming due and don’t forget to transfer funds, if needed. This is especially important to me since I have multiple accounts with funds going in and out. In spite of these gripes, I still give the app 5+ stars, since these things weren’t possible with my old checkbooks and everything else is that much better.
So far so good, a couple of recommendations

I’m switching over from CheckBook Pro by Plasm on my Mac as I’m moving to an iPad for all my computing. This app is really easy to set up and use. A couple of suggestions: When choosing which account to use in the dropdown, it would be helpful for the first account listed to populate. right now, you have to scroll down and back up to the first account for it to populate which is annoying. One feature I really like about my prior checkbook was the ability to schedule recurring expenses so they populate in the account register. This gives you a view of cash flow, which this app doesn’t seem to provide, unless I missed it - another option would to create a cash flow report that shows a chart AND the listing of future recurring revenue and expense transactions (with the ability to choose how far out you want to look). This is an important feature that I will cancel and seek a refund - what’s the point of having a checkbook if you can’t see what your future cash flow looks like? I’m still working through this as a new user and will come back if I learn anything else. Lastly, there should be a feature to be able to upload my prior app’s check register so all my historic transactions show up in this app so I’m not starting today as a new beginning. I’m losing all that history.
A Clean, Easy Checkbook App With Room to Grow

I’ve been using this app for years to balance my accounts, and I really appreciate its simplicity and ease of use. It does exactly what I need without trying to be everything all at once. One feature I especially like is the ability to track accounts, such as a savings account, while excluding them from your overall total balance. It’s helpful to know the money is there while keeping it out of your day to day available-to-spend total. The reports are another strong point. They make it easy to visually see where your money is going and where you might want to tighten up your spending a bit. That said, there are a few features I’d love to see added in future updates. An easier way to filter transactions by cleared, not cleared, or all would be a big improvement, especially if it didn’t require going into settings each time. For recurring transactions, it would be great to be able to set either an end date or a specific number of occurrences, such as charging $50 monthly until August 2026 or $50 weekly for the next 8 weeks. And while I like that splitting transactions includes a calculator, it’s missing a percent key, which makes accurately splitting transactions that include tax more difficult than it should be.
Fix issue with pie chart report for certain iPad devices.
