One of the big reasons iPhone and iPad users are so devoted is the easy, intuitive integration with thousands of dependable and easy-to-use apps. That's why the Brinks Home Security app is so appealing: It lets either device control almost every function of your home security alarm system and smart-home automation.

The perfect interaction

With compatible equipment and interactive functionality from, the Brinks Home Security app lets you manage your home from virtually anywhere. Go beyond the traditional home security alarm and add home security cameras, lights, locks, thermostats, garage-door openers and other devices to your system. After that, all it takes is a swipe or a tap to control your security and home automation devices and be aware of what s happening at
a moment's notice.

More than basic security

The Brinks Home Security app allows you to interact with your home security alarm system whether you're upstairs or uptown. Use our smart home solution to arm or disarm your system, lock or unlock doors, check the garage
door, or use a video doorbell to see who s there. There s no need to worry about forgetting to secure your house; just check it from wherever you are.

An extra set of eyes

Home security cameras are a popular addition to Brinks Home Security. Live or recorded video let you know what's going on while you're not home. It's easy to keep an eye on kids, pets or property.

Energy management

Smart thermostats are popular not just for convenience but for energy savings. Control your thermostat remotely, set up a schedule that fits your lifestyle, or let your thermostat determine your patterns and adjust
accordingly to maximize savings.

Control your lights

Remote management of your lighting is another great way to save energy. It's also a proven deterrent to would-be burglars, since they like it when no one's home. Keep them wondering by setting a schedule or by turning lights
on throughout your smart home when it gets dark and you're running late.

Just the beginning

Geo-fencing, which uses your location to automatically take useful actions while you're out. These range from real-time notifications such as a garage door that s been left open to functions like adjusting your thermostator turning on your lights. Just define a circular "geo-fence" in your Brinks Home Security app and let your smartphone do the rest.
Real-time email, text, and push notifications for potential emergencies, such as home security alarms, break-ins, and equipment failures.
Notification for specific events, such as when your kids get home from school, or when your housekeeper or petsitter are in the house.

Note: This app requires you to have a compatible smart-home system and interactive service plan. Feature availability varies based on system, equipment, and service plan. Visit for more

It’s great but…

I use this for my home and it’s great and all but it was supposed to be a upgrade from at&t since they are shutting down the alarm system. They don’t have an automatic set alarm and it’s annoying constantly setting it up myself every night. It also records every-time something goes by the front of my house. I changed it in the settings and now it won’t save any recordings anymore. Also they should set up a support chat but the text support they have is so useless because you can’t chat with someone or they don’t have the option you want help with. It’s annoying that you have to call for everything, it’s supposedly been set up for 10 years already and they don’t have that basic thing already. Another thing is you have to go on a website to manage other things instead of having everything on the app.

Takes advantage of senior citizens

My dad as Alzheimer’s and I know that the salesman could see that because my dad repeats things over and over again. If a salesperson sees that someone forgets and continues to ask the same question, why would they continue to try to make a deal with them. I called my dad to see what he was doing and he says, “this nice man is installing a security system.” I have power of attorney and didn’t know anything about it. So I immediately went over there and my dad didn’t know what was going on and the technician told me that he could tell something wasn’t right. The technician called his boss and the boss said that my brother (who self medicates) said it was okay. No. The salesman doesn’t know what goes on in my family and should never overlook things when they just don’t seem right. After that I has to move my dad to a senior company so he wouldn’t get taken advantage anymore in his house by people who “self medicate” and brinks wants $200 to transfer his account or pay $4000 to get out the contract. This is what people are doing to senior citizens these days. Ridiculous. Not to mention my dad already has ADT! Brinks should have just left it alone and stop the competition that my elderly father now has to pay for.

New Customer Pain Points

I have had Brinks for two months now, and I have a couple of issues:
Every utility I have, including Vivint Security in my shop, has an app bill pay option. Brinks does not, and it is a terrible inconvenience. I suspect it is to encourage auto bill payment, which I don’t like and have to pay more per month for not using it. However, at least add the option to the app.

My three stars was for no bill pay. This is for Brinks in general. OMG: The phone support and online website BrinksHome chat have brutal wait times. I had a chat session up for 40 minutes, while at the same time waiting for Brinks on hold with the phone. I finally got through on the phone after 40 minutes and gave up on chat.
