Ratings and Reviews
The one feature I feel this app is lacking is individual indicator volume levels for each ear. The current slide volume indicator is one slide bar for both hearing aid. The problem for me is if I don’t hear the low battery tone and the device shuts off, I have no visual help to figure out what has gone wrong with my hear. If u have never had hearing aids u might think it’s a no brainer “Duh” it’s the ear u can’t hear out of. Turns out when a device is in control of the dynamics of your hearing it’s not so easy to figure out why you can’t hear so well. Now let’s add life still coming at you, such as someone talking to u in a noisy environment and u need to respond. Let’s say your at work and your responsibilities can’t wait for u to fumble around with your hearing aid while you’re trying to figure out what’s wrong with my hearing. A quick look at my app could tell me which one of my devices r off line. The app for my first pair of HA’s had individual level indicators that visually showed me one of me devices were no longer connected. This was a huge help. This narrowed down the problem real quick.
Bottom line for me is if this app had individual level indicators. It would be a 5 star review for me.
Not Perfect, but getting there
Been using this app with my upgraded aids (option to use rechargeable NMH batteries or std type batteries) since Summer 2017.
Overall, I have been pleased with these aids, and with a busy schedule, business and pleasure, the adjustability via the app (iPhone 7+) has value for my needs. Having the option to use the std batteries eliminates the need to pack yet another electronic item in addition to cell phone and charger, computers et al and chargers. A small but convenient feature.
Because of the different hearing requirements of each ear, I would like having the option, in the app, of being able to adjust each ear separately, depending on need. I do not see that option available in the current version.
The directional adjustment has been helpful, especially in concerts, small meetings and in conference halls to hear speakers on stage, and in social events.
Overall, to date, I am pleased and am giving this app a 4, hoping and expecting functionality to continue in a positive direction.
Okay but Needs improvement
Only been using this a few days but so far it's a love/hate relationship. Biggest hate is that I can't use it in my vehicles because if you have your phone paired up via Bluetooth to your car, the app won't let you make changes. This really made me mad. Second hate is it says the settings will revert to whatever the hearing aid determines is best after 45 minutes. However the longest I've had the settings stay set is 15 to 25 minutes. Why does it change to begin with?! If I changed the settings that means I needed it changed and I can change it back when I want to!!!! I can't stop when I'm in a meeting and rudely get my phone out to readjust this stupid app. This could be a 5 star app but it apparently was designed by a liberal socialist who thinks they know better what I need than I do. So for now it's barely a 2 star.
