Classroom is a free service for schools, non-profits, and anyone with a personal Google account. Classroom makes it easy for learners and instructors to connect—inside and outside of schools. Classroom saves time and paper, and makes it easy to create classes, distribute assignments, communicate, and stay organized.

Classroom is designed to help teachers create, collect, and grade assignments paperlessly, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google Document for each student. It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organized.

Students can keep track of what’s due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom.

With the mobile app for iOS, students and teachers can view their classes and communicate with their classmates in real time. Students can open their assignments and work on them right from their iPhone or iPad. Teachers can keep track of who has turned in work and grade the assignment - at school or on the go. Students and teachers receive notifications when they have new content in Classroom, so they are always up to date.

There are many benefits of using Classroom:

Easy to set up
Teachers can add students directly or share a code with their class to join. It takes just minutes to set up.

Saves time
The simple, paperless assignment workflow allows teachers to create, review, and grade assignments quickly, all in one place.

Improves organization
Students can see all of their assignments on an assignments page, and all class materials (e.g., documents, photos, and videos) are automatically filed into folders in Google Drive.

Enhances communication
Classroom allows teachers to send announcements and start class discussions instantly. Students can share resources with each other or provide answers to questions on the stream.

Like the rest of Google Workspace for Education services, Classroom contains no ads, never uses your content or student data for advertising purposes.

Needs search button

Google classroom is pretty helpful but as a student with classes that assign tremendous amounts of work.. I often can’t find an assignment in the Class work section as there is a lot of scrolling to do.. The app would be so much better with a search button to search the what assignment is. Suppose the Assignment is called “English 120”, there could be a little search bar on the top right hand side and you could search the assignment up. Once doing, google classroom would scroll up the assignment and ask, “Is this what you’re looking for?”. If it was right you could use the app like normal and get to your assignment. Thank you for making a helpful app but adding this function would help student all over.

The design makes school work harder to do, it’s very complicated and I wish the style is more simple and minimalist and banners on the front page is just not it…the to-do list is horrible because you have to keep switching back and forth, like when you finish a missing assignment and want to complete all of the missing assignments you have to keep going back to that page. It would be better if there was boxes for each section and have them labeled. This needs an upgrade please take inspiration from other to-do lists (like classify) and apps. ALSO, please allow us to remove a class, BECAUSE teachers don’t want to or forget to remove it….like I am NOT IN MIDDLE SCHOOL… 🙄😡. And it needs a search button, like asap!! 🔴HAVE SIMPLE FRONT PAGE ITS SOOOOOO UGLY. IT should be MINIMALISTIC AND SIMPLE AND PLEASE MAKE IT CUSTOMIZABLE. LIKE I DONT WANT THE TEACHER TO PUT SOME GOOFY PICTURE ON THE BANNER, TO MAKE IT EASY For STUDENTS WE Should be able to customize the color, the banner(it’s easy for us to identify the class), everything the size except the assignments in the materials that the teachers post obviously. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WORK ON THE DESIGN!!🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴

I am a math tutor. Last week, I was teaching my 8th grade students Advanced Multivariable Calculus, and I assigned them homework over Google Classroom, the supposed "trusted app of homework." However, when typing up the wave equation, I noticed a creepy icon watching me from the corner of the screen. By the way, in case you were wondering, the wave equation is a linear second-order partial differential equation which describes the propagation of oscillations at a fixed speed in some quantity. I got so freaked out that I smashed my laptop on the ground and completely destroyed it!!!! Naturally, I immediately filed a lawsuit against Google Classroom for damages to my laptop, as well as emotional damages from this situation. Unfortunately, I lost the lawsuit and now live in a cardboard box. However, I am beyond thankful to Google Classroom for this experience because had I not smashed my laptop, I would've felt the necessary need to solve the Collatz Conjecture, which would have eventually sapped my will to live. In conclusion, thank you Google Classroom for your impeccable service!!! Putting a 1 star as the rating because Google Classroom is the 1 for me!
