Description
The Compass Connect® App brings the convenience, comfort and safety of Smart Home technology to your RV. You’ll operate essential devices like leveling, lights, slides, awnings and more:
• Use ‘Modes’ to make a custom device list for each part of your trip.
• Select ‘Favorites’ for quick access to frequently used devices.
• Monitor battery voltage, check water tank levels and adjust HVAC.
• Program a generator to turn ON automatically when needed and OFF to respect ‘quiet hours.’
To help with trip planning, use the complimentary Checklist Builder to plan and track every step. Then choose between classic light mode and new dark mode for enhanced readability.
If your RV is equipped with Auto Level PRO™ (Leveler 5), you can use the App’s new active bubble level display and choose from multiple setpoints. If your RV is equipped with Dimming or RGB lights, use the app to customize their appearance.
If your RV is equipped with a ConnectAnywhere™ system, a Telematics plan will allow you to monitor and control select Compass Connect devices and accessories remotely – from across the country.
Our Aftermarket Accessories portfolio makes customization easy too:
• Monitor tire health with the Tire Linc® tire pressure monitoring system.
• Make sure tanks are topped off with Liquid Propane sensors.
• Keep an eye on food safety with Temperature sensors for fridge and freezer.
• Add Smart Door Locks to keep things secure.
Check with your owner’s manual, RV manufacturer or dealer to see if your RV is compatible with Compass Connect, confirm device availability and check if your RV is prepped for Tire Linc or ConnectAnywhere, or equipped with Auto Level PRO/Leveler 5. Ratings and Reviews
No Wifi - seriously????
Absolutely unbelievable that the device has no standalone Wi-Fi capabilities (Bluetooth only). App is super glitchy as sliding action buttons do not always stay in the direction slid. Also, a mixed use of slide only vs tap to use on slide buttons is silly - make them consistent. When I use the app to open my slide, after opening there is a slight pause of silence and then the slide motor starts churning away with no motion. When this happens I am unable to use the panel to bring the slide in - super annoying and concerning that my slide is going to break.
Great Features, but kills smartphone battery
I downloaded this app last weekend. No issues making a connection to my Travel Trailer and it provides updates on status of all systems, which is great. The issue I have is that it continually runs in the background depleting my iPhone battery. Once I figured out the depleting was occurring due to the app running in the background, I turned off background refresh for the Compass Connect app. It did not seem to have any effect. After more than 21 hours of being turned off, the battery is still being depleted in the course of a few hours after a full charge. I verified it was turned off so I need to delete the app. This is a big problem since I was hoping to use the app while traveling but will not reinstall until I see the background app refresh setting issue is resolved. One thing I cannot put up with is an app killing my battery. Especially, when I would need it most.
Motion Lock Out
The app is OK (not good or great) most of the time. I routinely get a pop-up message saying my fifth wheel trailer is in motion and that some features are locked out until I press a physical button on the control panel in the trailer (and even then, pressing a button in the trailer doesn’t do anything). If I’m stopped and trying to connect to see my rear-view camera so I can then back into a camping spot, I don’t want to have to get out, unlock my trailer, and pull down the steps just to go in and press a button. Ditto when trying to see my tire pressures from the Tire Linc system - of course I’m in motion. When you need the app the most, it locks you out, which is very frustrating.
The app should have the capability for the user (who may be a passenger) to confirm they are not driving or moving to override the motion lock out in the app.
