Description

The HFX App was developed by Nevro to work with the HFX iQ™ Spinal Cord Stimulator. This application allows patients to input their daily pain, medication use and activity levels to provide a personalized therapy recommendation using Bluetooth® wireless technology.

Some key features include: turn stim on/off, check battery, turn on MRI mode for conditional settings, progress tracking, therapy adjustment, patient favorite mode, access patient diary, badges.

This app needs work.

I utilize this app with my implanted stimulator, I can control settings, turn on, or off, I am prompted for assessments, which is four general questions. It needs a box that we can put notes in, such as “today, the neuropathy in my feet is feeling well, but has moved to my shins and lower legs“ or “I’m getting headaches which I never have, and feel fuzzy in the head like not total control”.
I really love the device that is implanted, but trying to fine-tune it is like throwing darts at a dartboard! I know our support team reads our assessments, and tries to make adjustments from them. But assessments could be done better with personal input.

App has issues

I’m happy with the stimulator overall EXCEPT the app will not provide iPhone notifications for low battery. It provides a notification for assessments though. My care team said that it’s not supposed to push notifications through my iPhone. That doesn’t sound correct since it has setting within the app and in my iPhone settings to allow the notifications. My problem is now my battery completely runs out before I realize it. This notification issue needs to be fixed. It can’t be that difficult.

Doesn’t work for us

My wife has had a Nevro nerve stimulator for a couple of years so we decided to give the app a try. When my wife downloaded the app on her Apple ipad Gen10 the app said it was ‘not phone compatible’ so I tried installing the app on my Apple ipad with the most current ios instead and still received the ‘not phone compatible’ response. So, we had no success. Maybe the app needs to be updated?
