This app works okay. However, I would like to see an easier way to login and message read notifications. I cannot find a way to store my user name and password with my iOS. Facial recognition login would be ideal - the app already takes check in and reporting pics. Message received and or read indicators would be helpful - kinda like Facebook messenger.

The overall UI is a step forward. Unfortunately, the camera function has been automated, which has made the app more difficult to use. I wear eyeglasses, and not being able to adjust whether a photo is taken with a flash or not, as well as not being able to manually take the picture by pressing a button, has made this app more difficult for me to use. The current photo-taking feature not only uses a flash (which, again, due to eyeglass reflection, forces me to have to take pictures again and again because biometric data are not being properly extracted from the photo), it also requires staring into the camera for any number of seconds before photo is actually taken. The photo feature is also taking a second picture automatically after the first has already been “submitted” (indicated by a second flash and camera shutter sound).This is a classic case of SWEs thinking something will be a good idea (even though the update promised to not tamper with functionality), only to have it worsen things. Unfortunate.

The device is poorly designed and malfunctions constantly. Not only its bulky design is a stigmatization, where other similar monitoring devices are much smaller and less conspicuous, it is completely unnecessary because smartphones nowadays are all equipped with GPS. Therefore, tracking and monitoring individuals can be done without the faulty device. Moreover, it constantly breaking down/malfunctioning, thus, it requires to be replaced on a regular basis. It makes maintaining employment almost impossible because once it malfunctions, the person would need to go and have it replaced with another faulty device. If zero star can be given, BI SmartLink will be rated zero. There has to be a reason why this device was given a 2.7 stars.

This app is terrible. Why not let it ring longer? It’s not loud enough or long enough (even with full ph volume) when you’re in a dead sleep. And MANY MANY times it doesn’t alert at all. It’s like it’s trying to trick you and make you miss check-in instead of supporting the check-in process. You might also show in the notification when a checkin is done. Thankfully I’m in my last 5 days. Had I known how bad it is, I would have gladly gotten an ankle monitor instead. In fact I offered half way through my home detention. Ridiculous.
