Best UI! Needs to add a few more stretches

Of all the stretching apps out there, this one has the best UI/UX, and is therefore the only one I can see myself wanting to engage with daily. The options here are thoughtful and streamlined, and I’m finding that it’s more pleasurable to use without a lot of features clutter.

There are a few more customizable features I’d like to see. I think the option to change the stretch times would be nice. I’d also like to see a bigger stretching library. Like, no squats?? Squat stretch is a classic! It should be in one of the core routines! Low bridge stretch, rear hand clasp and some other upper body stretches in general would be nice to incorporate as well. Maybe some dynamic stretches, too, which are a pretty important component of mobility.

Some non-essential suggestions on my personal wishlist: I would really love to see the classic “starting stretching” sequence added here! And Kit Laughlin’s iconic daily 5 👀 although maybe that’s a little more niche (and possibly proprietary). A hip mobility/flexibility routine in general would be nice.

As an incredibly lazy person who optimistically pursues an over ambitious stretching routine every 3 months and quickly gives up, I like that the routines are SHORT. 4-10 minutes is the sort of stretch I can psychologically commit to. Great app for maintaining mobility!

Zero instructional guidance

Maybe if you’re an experienced Yogi you could use this app, but normal ppl need more instruction. A tiny 2D cartoon does not tell me if I should be pressing into my heel or the ball of my foot on a stretch, or if my hips should be forward or back. Literally, the app icon is how they depict ALL the stretches, like a poster in the gym. I need an app that talks to me, the beeps and boops of Bend are just annoying and unhelpful. It’s honestly a little condescending to think the general public would find this app helpful. The assumption that everyone already knows how to get into the correct position for a specific stretch is really the developers going out on a limb!
If you want an app that DOES provide helpful guidance with real instructional video, I recommend StretchIt. Their videos are comprehensive and the explanation of how to achieve the correct body position and optimize each stretch is thorough (and includes modifications for beginners). WAY better app than Bend.
I used Bend for approx 3 months and saw zero difference in my flexibility (because I obviously was not in the correct position for most of the stretches). Switched to StretchIt and within the first 10 days I am almost doing the splits!! Instruction and voice guidance from a trained professional makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

Update From Previous Review

I’m writing in regards to an update. It is only fair that I do an update because I was able to talk with a representative and they assisted me with my issue and my concerns. The representative by the name of Anna came to the rescue. Gave me some tips and some pointers in my issue and my concerns were both resolved. That is a mark of good business and their values they have for their customers. I really appreciate what Anna did for me. I have been able to get some good work in since receiving feedback.
