Down Lights Switch

My down lights have only been turned on when I felt like the walk all the way upstairs to throw the switch but no longer because of this awesome app! When I had an issue, Ryan, their tech was relentless in solving the problem and now it only takes the click of a button on my phone!

Can’t create an account

Installed product and now trying to use app to control product. When I go to create an account the app says “sorry, there was a(n) error in setting password for user,” and it won’t create an account. I’ve done all the basic tech stuff like restart phone, delete and redownload app, double checked the password standards and requirements, and I still get the same error message. Seems like this app needs to be updated and/or something on Eatons end needs to be fixed. Until then I give this app a one star - zero star if I could. Depending on how this is resolved I’ll update my review.

The scheduler function lacks functionality. The scheduler should have an “if - then” feature, and other boolean functions to be remotely useful. The scheduler is also lacking clear definition for the action that you want to schedule. Also no way of determining or confirming that the smart switch is time of day is accurate. The light controlled by the smart switch doesn’t turn off when schedules. I wouldn’t recommend this app or smart switch. Nor would I buy another smart switch. Better off paying more for a device that has a hub controller.

Unreliable Switches and App

This is so inconsistent. I have three schedules for switches to turn on and off, but lately when I go into the app it tells me I have no schedules. It invites me to add a schedule, then a few clicks later, the old schedules somehow reappear. Needless to say, those schedules are not being followed. This might also be the fault of the Eaton switches paired with the app. They are notorious for losing their WiFi connection, unlike other devices I have in my house. Another source of frustration. Whichever it is, avoid Eaton switches and the Brightlayer app that they operate with. There are more reliable switches out there.

This issue was resolved with version 1.9.3 and should no longer impact any users. In regard to device disconnection issues, please ensure your devices are updated to our latest firmware.
