Can’t access other chrome profiles

I have multiple Google accounts for different clients. Unlike many Google iOS app, chrome does not support switching your selected Google account. I’m signed in to all of my Google accounts in my phone, but in chrome, I can only access bookmarks and passwords for the “default” account, which just happens to be the first one that I signed in with.

Google’s support docs indicate to “switch” the “default” account selected in chrome, I need to log out of my currently “selected” “default” account (I say “selected” since I not not actually select anything - chrome chose for me). The problem with this guidance is that all Google apps on iOS have their login sessions synced. If I sign into 3 Google accounts in Google Drive, they will all 3 be signed in on chrome as well. Vice versa, if I log out of my accounts in chrome, I will get logged out in Drive, which is undesirable.

Terrible for iPad

I'm reviewing this from the perspective of my iPad with Apple's Magic Keyboard. I've used Chrome as my main browser for quite some time on my PC, and I have been satisfied, but when I downloaded it on my iPad, right after I got it, I was very disappointed. For starters, unlike desktop chrome, for iPad chrome, when you first open it, there is no option to ask "Who is using Chrome." I Really need this feature because I have a personal account and a school account. Second of all, there is no "always request desktop site" option, unlike Safari. I heard it used to be an option in the Chrome://flags site, but they removed it. I need to ask why. This really makes me mad, they literally had the ability to do this all along, but they refuse too, now i'm stuck with all these really poor interface website's that always beg you to download the app, which I don't want to do, because I like having all my websites being together and being able to have multiple open at a time. I hate to break it to you Google, but you just lost the ability to track all the stuff I do on my iPad, cause I'm on Safari, which is also annoying but less because there is no multiple user support for that too, but at least everything else is good.

Great browser, but terrible release update process

When you open up the browser, after it not being up for awhile, it will open a new tab. Want to turn it off, good luck. It won’t be in the settings and they don’t make it clear what is going on. A web search will bring up all kinds of “you may have been hacked”. But, it’s a “feature” that they added.

Turn it off by going to chrome://flags and search for “start surface” and disable that. Pretty straight forward, huh? Yeah, I didn’t think so, either. Super disappointing. Most of the iOS browsers have added this “feature” and they were all quickly disabled. But, Chrome didn’t make finding the way to turn the stupid thing off easy.

I hope reviews like this remind them that this is a great browser, but a lot of that is because it’s fast and easy to setup to operate as expected. A major and very annoying change, that replicates a spam “new tab” experience from the early browser days…as a feature…that’s not easy to find a way to turn it off? Just feels like a bad idea to me, but I’ll let my rating do the talking.
