I’ve been with Consumer Cellular for 10 years and have been very pleased with it, I have recommended several people to Consumer Cellular in the past. However, the requirement to change my Sim card has denigrated my experience to the point that I am looking at possibly changing carriers. four times I have contacted Consumer Cellular about extending the number of rings from 3 to 6, which is what I had prior to the Sim card change. No matter what I do the most I get is 22 seconds and four rings. I do not have my phone attached to my hip, and that is not enough time to allow me to get to my phone. The last time I called about this, I was told there was nothing else they could do and it was a problem with the device. How could the device cause problems that I didn’t have before the Sim card change?In addition, most of the time I only have one bar of service. Twice they have downloaded data to supposedly improve the service and I received two bars for several hours to two days, then I am back to one bar.I have gone from being a highly satisfied customer to being one who is barely hanging on.

The app stinks! Every time I open it, it makes me sign in and doesn’t let me sign in with Face ID. Once I’ve signed in, it redirects to the website, opens it in Safari and then makes me sign in again. Then it goes on to solicit me to download the app to make it easier. It’s like ground hog day! I have even tried to indulge this lower form of intelligence by trying to download the app again; the thought crossed my mind that perhaps I just needed an update. Alas, I cannot “redownload” the app though I haven’t yet tried deleting it and starting over. All in all Consumer Cellular on iOS stinks. The Mac OS webpage in Safari is somewhat better, but if I want things to work without any hiccups, I open the CC website in Firefox. I really think their developers ought to do something to make this a better experience since it’s been several years of the same old same old with nothing new. Or better.

A few weeks ago, I was told by Consumer Cellular to update my SIM card, or they would deactivate my phone since the SIM card was two years old and “outdated”! I get the SIM card and follow the instructions to change it… then have the worst experience trying to “chat (text) with a representative” trying to activate the SIM card! She actually disconnected my chat, and blocked me from using it again! Tried 5 times to call the number they have to activate it, only to find out, you can’t call them until it’s activated! Finally found a way to activate it without having to deal with their customer service! Because I tried before work, I had no phone for 2 1/2 hours until I was able to complete the process! Next time I know what to do, to avoid the rude customer service!!

Why am I charged over the data plan? I have 10 GB data plan & i didn’t finish my data not even close but I am being charged over and over. They upgraded for next data plan which is upgraded to 15 GB. I call customer service but they are saying glitches or restart your phone, clear cookies. No i didn’t agree because they did it more than there times. Please do not upgrade my data plan that i don’t even finish the current plan. I need also my money back.They upgraded to 50 GB plan. I just using the plan because nothing that I can do. I did use the plan or pay for it for a while. Recently I didn’t use the data that much I used like 4GB.. but I find out that I have still been charged for 50 GB data plan. Oh dear Concumer you automatically UPGRADED for over data usage WHY not you automatically DOWNGRADE for No or Few Data Usage?
