It couldn´t be simpler: LIGHTIFY installation in 3 steps:

1. Download the free LIGHTIFY app on your smartphone or tablet PC

2. Insert the LIGHTIFY gateway into the socket and connect it to your WLAN router

3. Install your LIGHTIFY lamps and luminaires and follow the app instructions

Much appreciated!

I have changed my review from 3 to 5 stars after moving on from my initial learning curve experience to adding many more bulbs.

By staying on the Modules screen, it’s easy to use and find things. I’ve set up 6 bulbs—all being very easy to add, operate and set up schedules for all through the modules screen. Thank you for this fully featured app.

Most importantly, the moods are priceless and fun and really let us enjoy all the features of our smart bulbs!!! Whatever happens, please never let the moods go away.

Note: In schedules, the continuous activity switch does NOT mean repeat your day selections each week! Weekly repetition occurs regardless. That pesky switch only means the days selected must be continuous without any skipped days. This feature allows a device to stay on for multiple continuous days before using the end time to turn off. The start time is used only for the first day in the selection and the end time is used only for the last day in the continuous activity setup. And that mysterious red marker on the day selection line that only appears when you switch on continuous activity, is used as a handle to slide across to select days. I will never allow lights to remain on for days. I think this section is over kill causing unnecessary confusion and schedules not to turn on as expected if used by mistake, as I did. I keep the continuous activity switch off.

thank you for your review. For fade on/off just long press on a device on module screen and select "edit light". You can edit your home screen that it shows your desired items (lights, groups, schedules,...) when opening the app. You can have a look at our manual within the app under Settings > Help or contact our customer support team (email: lightify@osram.com), if you have further questions.

Used to be awesome. Not sure who is responsible for this mess

This app and the Lightify system in general used to be amazing. I’m not sure who you put in charge of the latest update or why they are angry with end users but please let me know who to send a fruit basket to. I would love to “mend fences”. I don’t know if I killed their dog or what but jeez!! Since the latest “mandatory” update that angry person just broke things. Sometimes it will respond to my “commands” on my iPhone 12. Almost the time it won’t. And when it does it takes a minute or more to respond. Even when using google assistant it Alexa. (Yes I have both..... I’m indecisive. Sorry. At least I don’t lash out at strangers like whoever put this update together). Please fix this. I love my Lightify bulbs. Most my house is in Lightify. I realize you are moving on to other things that will make your leadership richer but can’t you take into account the hundreds of dollars I have spent on your products trusting that you would continue to support your customers??? I’m sure I made at least one payment on your new car. Come on!! Buddy!!! Let’s stay friends. Hook us up with a working update. I’ll even light a WiFi lightbulb in your name!! At least I’ll try. Can’t promise it will work. That’s up to you.

Even more confusing than the previous version

The version wasn’t very intuitive, but the newest version is heavy. Trying to navigate to the options of first gen bulbs is a maze. Took a week of messing with the app to finally get the bulbs working again. I haven’t a clue how I succeeded, and I have a degree education in digital technologies.
Now, one bulb is ignoring programming. Comes on but stays on.
Certainly, a dropped ball on the revise.
