Discovery 12+

I am beyond losing hope with vitality for the last couple of weeks!! My vitality fitness goal is only 100 points per week and I have been achieving this for the last 2 weeks in February 2020 as well as back in December 2019 and I’ve received no rewards!!!?!?!?! I watch everyone else I know have their app and circle updated each time they reach a goal but mine fails to even do a thing. I can walk 5000 steps, 7 days a week and still won’t get any rewards or plays on any given week! What’s the point in paying R280 a month and I can’t even get a measly 100 discovery miles which is not even R10!! I fee like cancelling vitality all together as I’m not seeing any Benifit at this point and the app never fricken works!!!!!!

It is clear that certain ‘other’ exercises bring massive benefits. For the last 2 years I have been doing yoga for 30 to 60 mins most mornings. I have also engaged in intermittent fasting and 2x yearly 6 to 7 days of full water fasting with exercise. Wonderful benefits and big gains in strength afterwards wonderful. Then, because I do my best to eat organic multi coloured green veg and less fruit, there are no Discovery points. Then What about Wim Hof Breathing and meditating. Super through the whole of CoVID and productivity just goes up. So where is Discovery with all of this? Go and Listen to Professors Andrew Huberman, David Sinclair and Dr Peter Attia. They are from Stanford and Harvard. But Discovery that could link far better health scores and health spans on much of the modern research seems to prefer paying big Pharma for chronic meds. Is this not maybe rather backward? The idea of chasing health points by means of an App is very progressive. Look at Levels in the USA, they have taken this idea way further. Surely better health spans benefits the health of individuals and a whole country massively.

The game board is in essence a form of gambling and hardly a habit Discovery should be encouraging or employing to ‘reward’ its members.
Having achieved one’s goals (where Discovery has encouraged wise and healthy practices and/or safe driving habits of its members) Discovery then encourages a form of gambling (a distinctly unwise and unhealthy habit) by making members play their game board.
Members go from hero to zero in this moment ie all pleasure at having achieved one’s goals, is completely replaced by disappointment when you pick a tile that generally has an ‘average to low’ value (subconsciously, or consciously, disappointment follows because you didn’t pick the time with the highest value).
If a member achieves their goals, they should be rewarded, end of story - but instead, Discovery says, “Well done for achieving your healthy goals, but before you are rightfully rewarded, let’s just make you jump through one final hoop and encourage an unhealthy habit of gambling and see how LITTLE you have actually earned.”
Very disappointing Discovery.
