Lots of work still required
Really great app and really great idea, love it. But: lots of small flaws which makes the whole app unreliable and misleading. I get nailed for phone usage when I receive a call through my bluetooth car kit? It works perfectly in my wife’s car though, actually so well that she can work on her phone and as long as she is connected to the car’s media, the app doesn’t pick up het usage. I also get punished for “cornering” at the same traffic circle every time I go through it, doesn’t matter how slow I go.
So keep working on it, certainly on the right track, but I won’t dare taking out insurance through Discovery with this app monitoring my driving...
Frustrated and irritated
Please add an option to stop recording. The app takes far to long to register itself that the trip has ended and then you get penalized for using your phone when you pick it up to exit the vehicle. The harsh acceleration is a joke. If you need to pull away slowly because of traffic you get penalized. Harsh acceleration at 1km/hr or 5km/hr. Ridiculous.
Also irritated that the system was changed without any notification to customers and now if you don’t accumulate 100km in the week you loose them all and have to start again. That requires me to waste petrol to get to the 100km and adds to my risk because I now need to drive the car more than I normally do. Why can’t I accrue until I finally get to 100km like I used to? And. You also changed the system to accrue from a Saturday to Friday instead of a Monday to Sunday without notifying customers only giving a 5 day week whichever week it changed, which I assume is recently
Driving on a highway where the speed limit is 100 and where there are off ramps the speed is 60 - for the drivers taking the ramp yet the app penalises and marks the speed limit for that portion of the highway to be 60. Please explain to me how a speed limit can change from 100 to 60 then back again to 100???? It does not make any sense. Also the app does not get the harsh braking correctly. Unless you slow down at a snails pace and then stop your car, that is the only way you do not get a demerit for harsh braking. Lastly The app only starts tracking my driving after I have already been driving for at least 3km which is really frustrating. I think there is still a lot of progress to be made here before you can truly allow drivers to track their driving.
