Is Pineapple the way to insure? 👍🏻👍🏻😍😍
I was a little skeptical at first when wanting to insure my Beats headphone with Pineapple. Working in the financial services industry as a risk manager makes me cognisant of defaulting counterparts and I was worried that Pineapple would not be able to handle a claim (reinsurance is some of their amazing ideas)
My mind is at ease. I accidentally damaged my Beats Solo 3 wireless limited edition headphones worth R4000 and has to submit a claim. This was over the December holiday period and Pineapple kept asking me for the claim info and were insanely helpful in getting the claim approved and sorted. I got paid out and I am now I have the sound of my great headphones playing again
Pineapple has revolutionized insurance and I will definitely recommend them and will be insuring more products in the future if their service and ease of use continues like this
I had to submit a claim 2 weeks before the lockdown (for a screen repair so I was already on edge at the prospect of not having my phone) and the team was so efficient!
Given that they were short-staffed to maintain social distancing, I was surprised to find that someone was always available to provide me with an update.
Now that they’re underwritten by Old Mutual, an insurer with whom I have also had an amazing experience, I know that they’ll only get better!
Pathetic Customer Service
Please read my Hellopeter review “Don’t do business with Pineapple Insurance” from 26 Aug first, because this is a follow up.
After my Hellopeter review, I received an automated response from the CEO to say how embarrassed they are and that someone senior will be in touch with me with regards to my problems.
Since the 26th of August, no-one senior has contacted me to resolve my issues. Instead, I’m still stuck with the incompetent Fulufhelo that has now decided to ignore me for over a week. I’ve been ignored on Facebook messenger as well when they asked me to DM them. I’m stuck with these inflated premiums I never consented to and can’t get out of it because their app bug STILL hasn’t been fixed since July. Reminding everyone that they don’t have a call centre and that the only way to get through to them is via their broken app.
What’s embarrassing is that this company does not take complaints seriously and doesn’t have any good sense of customer service. They really could have won me back with a basic sense of hearing my concerns, following me up with information and finding solutions for my problems. However, since it’s been over TWO MONTHS with no resolution and unprofessional conversations - I don’t have hope for a relationship with this company anymore.
I would not recommend anyone do business with Pineapple insurance. They really aren’t there for you.
