User-friendly app, but ongoing transaction and support issues.

I’ve been using EasyEquities for about three years. The platform offers great exposure to different markets and the app is generally quite user-friendly, which is why I originally recommended it to many friends.Unfortunately, over time I’ve experienced a number of issues with transactions not going through and support queries that take a very long time to be resolved, or sometimes don’t receive a response at all. Because investing relies heavily on trust and accuracy, this has gradually reduced my confidence in the platform. For that reason, I’ve started slowly migrating some of my investing to Clarity by Investec. I genuinely hope these issues can be improved, as EasyEquities has a lot of potential and has played an important role in making investing accessible in South Africa. For now, I’ve paused recommending the platform until I feel fully confident again that transactions, account balances, and support responses are consistently reliable.
No Longer User Friendly

I really liked using this app because it was so easy to use but all these new updates have made it not so easy to use. The new features are great but they were not implemented with much logic. The new crypto account - very nice! But, firstly, there’s no option to transfer money into the crypto account from any of the investment accounts. Secondly, there’s no “add to watchlist” option when browsing through each item like the other South African investments have but on the watchlist page, you can filter by crypto? Thirdly, when clicking on the “our research” button - great feature but once you click on it, it opens another screen which I’m assuming is a web view to display a web page. But the problem is, there’s no back button to go back to the previous screen and I have to now exit the app and reopen it again - not so great! So this has been a not so great app to use at all! To top this off… the home page which lists all the accounts - live accounts, demo accounts, tfsa accounts, etc. the crypto account listed on the page does not open when you click it. So there’s no way to view your crypto portfolio. The only time you can view it is if you purchase some cryptos & on success there’s an option to view portfolio. These new features were not thought through properly & clearly testing wasn’t done properly either, as this is something that should have been picked up & resolved before deploying a new version on the app stores. PS: No, I am not emailing you this. I have already typed it out here and the developers have access to these reviews on App Store Connect!
Keep the poor poor

This is less a critique of the app and more the actual platform. If you enjoy staying poor this app is perfect for you, first of all, DO NOT USE EASYFX, the spreads on these are ridiculous, if you want to move ZAR to USD and then back you lose about 6% of your funds! If you understand compound interest this is an exorbitant amount, also why are all the prices updated every 15 minutes? Are you that money hungry that you have to charge us to see the value of our investments accurately. Don’t get me started on the thrive fee! This platform gives the feeling that every time you think of opening the app they want to take money from you, I have only used EE for about two months and will immediately be switching to interactive brokers, it is truly criminal how much they try to charge you to use this platform and is predatory since 90% of these fees are hidden up until you actually need to use the service and money is already in your account. Other platforms that are not even classified as cheap are 10x cheaper than EE. All in all your developers need to get fired because this app is horrendous and overcomplicated and whoever is thinking up all these fees need to resign. Terrible platform, worse app.
Multiple account support lacking
Idiots@thezoo
Although I do enjoy investing in the app and for the most part it is easy to do so, there was a push to “create an account for your child” which I did and now I have to log in and out of each separate account and the app gives errors when I transact in one account then login to the next account and try to transact again. It’s almost as if there are controls against accessing multiple accounts, yet I was encouraged to (& would want to continue) managing both my and my two kids accounts. If you could just incorporate the opportunity to link and manage multiple accounts through a single login that would be ideal
We've made improvements to enhance your overall user experience and app performance.
