(1) Toyota Connected Services vary by vehicle and are subject to change at any time without notice. Services depend on 4G network availability, a cellular connection and GPS signal. Without anyone or more of these things, operability may be limited or precluded, including access to response center and emergency support. Further, if and when 4G network changes or is discontinued, or the underlying technology required to support service becomes obsolete, then the Connected Services will not work, and Toyota will need to discontinue impacted services. Services require account registration through the Toyota app and acceptance of the Connected Services Terms of Use:
For the U.S., Hawaii, and Puerto Rico:

UPDATE*** I was at the movies, the credits started to roll, and I took my phone out to remote start, and it worked from inside the theater first try. I think the reason I’m having so much success with this app isn’t making sure The vehicle status is updated. Sometimes it says last updated and it was the last time you use the app or vehicle. Swiping down where it says vehicle status will refresh the status. I did that in the theater before trying to remote start. Like I said it worked right away. OP:I just purchased a brand new 2022 Corolla Cross, so far the app has worked for me. Twice it told me it failed to remote start the car and I tried it again right away and it worked the second time both times. A family member of mine has a 2020 Camry and has tried to use the app for years and has only had frustration, so I understand why the app is rated so low and I have my fingers crossed maybe it is on the upswing because of my early successful experiences using it. If I start to experience what my family member did and what the majority of the reviews on here have, I will adjust my review. also, since I got my car, the family member has had success with the app too. It is unacceptable for Toyota to produce an app like what this has been so far. It should be a great app and work every time. I hope this is the first of many positive reviews.
Best Customer Friendly Dealership in Hillsborough County.
Sober ArChY
any luck at the beginning of October I decided to purchase a 2017 Hyundai Tucson from Kia after being forced to put down 25% more on the down payment that I originally wanted to key and then called me three weeks after purchasing the vehicle and told me to bring it in, but wouldn’t tell me whyit took me two weeks to get further with them emailing on the paperwork they needed texting them the paperwork they needed faxing them the paperwork they needed. They still told me once I came in and gave them the keys that the dealership and Bank we’re going back on the deal and they were canceling the contract so I immediately walked right over to where Leo and Nick gave me the best customer service I’ve ever had at a dealership. I told Leo and Nick what happened at Kia and they promised me that they would make sure I drive off the lot with a car. I thought it was gonna be a used car. They helped me drive off a lot with a 2026 brand new Toyota and I paid the original amount of down payment that I wanted to pay which was less than what Kia had forced processed out of my account. Be careful if you buy from Kia Kia shady business go to Toyota Toyota is great and they will treat you great and they will treat you like a customer not just another sale.
(Read) Data collecting in new update !

I’ve had the app for a few years and it worked “ ok “ yes just ok, after having the app for a few years I questioned the value of what you pay yearly but still renewed for another year. After the recent update I will not be renewing anymore; here’s the reason: Like every application these days they want some of your most personal information. The new update forces you to consent to the “ Connected Services Master Data Consent “ which asks for your precise location information for not only Toyota but also its affiliates who ever they are for research and data analysis what ever that could be and if you decline every part of the app that convinced you to pay for the service in the first place is now consequently not available. So essentially Toyota is asking for things things that only your husband or wife may ask for your location and information 24/7 and not for free but for a monthly fee and if you don’t consent the app doesn’t work. Just another large corporation being extremely intrusive with their technology arm of their company. Read your terms of service before consenting these companies know you most likely won’t. If you don’t care this review isn’t for you.
Remote start fails and causes car to not start with key
Ash.................
The app has been nice just to check certain things and vehicle health but kinda pointless otherwise. The amount of time you have to press and hold the lock/unlock and start button is absurd. It’s at least 15 seconds. On top of that, anytime I try to use the remote start button it has failed. The first time it failed it didn’t tell me it failed but told me to check the backseat, I obviously did but no children were present and all the doors were shut still. The second time I used it the app alerted me that the car was now started and will shut off in 10 minutes. I turn to go put my shopping cart away (one spot away from me) and when I got back to the car it was off (it had only been maybe 60 seconds since the app said it was on). So I sit in the vehicle, keys in hand, and try to start my car. The ODO section of the car says “press foot on brakes and have key fob close” and the vehicle did not start. I obviously know how to start a car, so my foot was pressed and my fav was close. So I try again, same message on the ODO screen and no start. I try again, same thing. So I get out. Lock my car. Unlock my car. Get in, press start and the car starts. But why is the app saying my car is started when it’s not, then confusing the actual vehicle system so much that it doesn’t even allow it to physically star when I manually start it. Huge problem.
At Toyota, we are constantly striving to make our App more user-friendly so you can easily stay connected to your vehicle.
