I walked over 10 miles yesterday the app says I walked 668 steps despite the activity app logging my miles. It says that I only stood for 2 hours, despite being on my feet all day at work! It says that I only burnt 41 calories and worked out for 6 minutes, the activity app disagrees! Closed all my rings. Please fix this! Ok so I have 2 phones, both have the same Apple ID one watch paired… Lately the health app isn’t showing my stats from the watch at all. The phones barely update all month! I’d like to add that I also purchased a Fitbit and paired to one of the phones, nothing shows up. And it’s not syncing any of my health information from the app (I.e. it will not update my cycle at all despite the health app having an accurate log of it). Please at least fix the issue where neither phone now sees data from my watch. So, I’ve been allowed to have my phone with me at work. Now I wear a watch and carry my phone in my hip pocket at all times. There is a huge difference between the activity app in my watch and the health app on my phone! How can I lose miles upon miles every single day? I was under the impression the phone must be at waist level or below… My hip pocket! So the phone somehow misses an average of 5 miles a day.I’ve come to the conclusion that my heart rate has to be up for either to really log exercise. Some days it will say I’ve climbed over 18 flights of stairs, when I have just gone down one, other days it will say one flight when I have gone over 20!
Great App but Needs More Options for Logging Health Data

I started using this app about a month ago. So far it has accurately tracked my sleep, medications and other data. It linked to my health records and accurately links to my fitness app. I love that my information has been easy to input and that it’s all kept in one place. I see a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist, a primary physician, and sometimes the hospital. It’s very helpful to be able to accurately log details and data to share at my appointments across various providers. The only feature I would love to see is more detailed tracking. I have to keep a food journal and unfortunately a bathroom log. This is true for many people with GI issues and it would be awesome if there was a category or feature to be able to log this info within this app as well. Also, when I do have a time period where I’ve experienced a medical event that prevents me from reaching my fitness goals or that affects my daily habits it would be nice to be able to log that event so when I look back at my data I know why it was out of range for those days and I can accurately communicate to my various providers the dates, times, and details of those events without having to keep those notes in a separate form. I can only relate to the medical issues I have but I am sure there are other conditions out there that could benefit from more options of what to track and how to log medical procedures and events that affect our daily habits and routines. Overall this app has been very helpful and has great potential, I would recommend.
I want to love it…

This app has a nice layout and spread of health factors to track. It’s helping me keep track of a number of health things in one place, which is convenient. I am very frustrated by the data entry itself. There are a lot of little automatic things that make life difficult such as: often something I enter about the end time of an activity changes the start time so I have to go enter it again. If I miss the change, the data ends up incorrect. Sometimes the data is incorrect in a way that impacts other data in the app. When I try to edit the data, the only thing to do is delete the whole entry. So, today, because I entered sleep at 10am instead of 10pm accidentally, it ended up linked to my previous days’ sleep. I can’t fix it without reentering yesterday and today. Frustrating. Being able to edit just a single part of the data is really key. Beyond that, to really love the app, I’d need it to be more customizable. When I log moods and feelings, the feelings I want are rarely there. I’d like to be able to add a customized type of exercise I do all the time. I’d like to be able to specify whether nutrients are food or supplements. It would be icing on the cake if I could just say which foods I’d eaten and have it track nutrients for me. It’s an app that I now use daily, and also wish I could be in charge of improving daily.
There could be so much more…

Before I start with the ways to improve I want to first applaud all of the pluses that heath and fitness apps offer. It’s a wonderful motivator to see just in time data and progress prompts and motivators such as badges. I love sharing my progress with friends and motivating each other. I adore the smiles we share through that. As an asthmatic, I rely on the blood oxygen readings that my watches record and use it to see my data regularly. I use my medication reminders religiously. (I wish it were easier to edit your time schedule for each.) Now…what I wish would be possible. We start each day on a calendar day. I wish the first question of the day with the health app was …how are you doing today. Healthy—great…let’s go. Not feeling so great….ok…here are some suggestions. Or Sicker than a dog with the flu, a cold, an asthma related allergy attack…that then adjusts the notifications you receive. I cannot tell you how discouraging it was to recently to be sicker than a dog in bed not able to move to have health/activity tell me to stand and exercise. Instead, it should be reminding me to drink, eat what I can, take the meds I need (have me list then as mine as interventions—of course I’d never expect the app to tell me. Let me build it. Why? This lets me further track my own data. Which brings me to the next I wish. I wish it were easier to analyze/export my data. Let me dump it in a spreadsheet and manipulate. Or better yet…give me the data I’ve collected in reports and rewards to help me grow further and align my goals. That’s a start of my brain dump. Would love to work further on how to make it better as someone who wants to be better every day and stick with apple products and not have another app.
