I love Peco they always find a way to lower my bill and my past bills were forgiven when I joined cap and I pay one fair amount per month and I know many people complain when they use liheap and cap but they usually fail to follow directions which is pay the one rate every month for a year and your back balance of thousands gets forgiven but you can't be late at all or you'll lose the benefit but they still try find a way cast blame and abuse the system so I wanted to leave a nice comment so maybe they'll learn from my experience which is pay it and on time . I had an issue last month that still has not been resolved. I tried to switch to a payment plan to help me with a larger bill and it didn’t end up going through in time. I was enrolled in autopay, so the payment ended up going through in full. I had initially tried to handle the issue with several weeks notice, but my request for escalation was never noted on my file, so by the time I followed up, it was the Friday before the bill was due and it was too late.Now, even though the bill was paid in full, I found out I am still enrolled in a payment plan and there is no way to undo it. Also there’s a glitch with my current bill and it errors out when I try to download it to see the breakdown. When I called customer service they have the same issue on the backend trying to view my bill, so now they have to mail it to me and the issue is getting delayed for several more weeks.PECO is great until you have an issue and it is incredibly frustrating trying to get it fixed or understood.

Power is out due to the big Nor’easter. Last night I try to report my outage online. Says “can’t do this online, must download app”. I download app and try again. 1) lists 2 address for me to choose but the address text is blank. I pick one and success (I think) it takes me to my status page and says “Your power is on”. I click report outage and it says “Your outage is reported”. I go back and do the same thing for the other address listed because, remember, I can’t actually see the text on the list. I check an hour later and it says...”Your power is on” for both mystery addresses. So I repeat my steps to report again. I then check outage map in my neighborhood and it says “Customers affected, less than five.” !?!?!? Our entire neighborhood of 35 houses are affected, along with the street that leads to our neighborhood with probably another 20 houses on it! Anyway, this morning I check my status and, you guessed it, it says “Your power is on.” !?!?!? Neighborhood status on the outage map...yep, “Customers affected, less than five.” Unbelievable!!! Don’t force me use your app to report if it’s not going to work!!!

I just was looking over my bill after logging in to check power outage status. Not only are my bills improperly calculated and charges mislabeled and unlabeled, but bills issued have been revised after being issued. If an issued bill has been revised it should submitted as such as another bill issued. Modifying a bill that has already been issued wasn’t possible when online billing didn’t exist. Having the power to edit/revise bills at will provides the opportunity to attempt to cover up mistakes, billing errors, fraudulent charges, and alleviates taking accountability for all of the above. With today’s technology, it is obvious that the online systems are being used for more than just convenience. Companies like PECO are sticking it to millions of customers knowing that they can plead ignorance and point the finger at technology when customers pay attention, but ultimately that they will get away with it by the majority of their customer base.
