Went looking for this 1099 document in the Synchrony Bank app but as far as I can see there is no way to see if you even have any documents let alone view or download it then. O.K. this is not an uncommon thing with apps as missing info such as this is often available via a company’s website. So I log on to Synchrony’s website and after a little digging I find the relevant page that purports to allow one to view and download one’s 1099 for a specific year. I click on the correct button, a spinning circle appears and spins for maybe 10 secs or so then nothing. I’m back to the button again. I’m using an iPhone 12 running the latest version of IOS and the most recent version synchrony’s app. To make things worse you’ve now lowered your flipping savings interest rate to 80% of Ally Bank’s current savings interest rate!!!! So what gives synchrony bank? You can do better than this guys....

Absolutely love how simple and easy the process of receiving my card, activating the card (less than 10 seconds,) as well as downloading the app for my IPhone 13 Pro (couldn’t have been easier/quicker to set up) Navigating the app is very intuitive and simple, yet includes everything needed to manage my account (bill pay, transfers, credit limit, rate fees (low/if any), I’ve never had a financial service that actually has given me the security and the tools to manage my money without being charged “an arm and a leg” for whatever situation that requires some large fee)… thank you Synchrony, I look forward to continue using all of the products that you have to offer, and I can’t wait to tell my friends and family about the way your company conducts its business and refer them all directly to your site. Good yields, bad app

I have been using synchrony for a few years now. I never had the app because I could always do everything on PC. But they started removing features from the website and requiring that you use the app for those features. The app is horrendous in my experience. I have like a 50% success rate of logging in. Half of the time it just gives me a spinning wheel. The limits on deposits and timing of their system can be annoying. Also, just as a whole, synchrony does not play well with many banks from what I’ve seen. It is incredibly difficult to link up to external accounts to transfer money into this account. Now to the positives. They have great high yield savings accounts and pretty good CDs as well. They make me money, which makes this whole pain of an experience worth it for me. Also, their customer service has been good for me. They are kind and generally knowledgeable. Unfortunately the timing of their systems makes it so I usually have to call multiple times for one issue.
Unrealistic Limits

I have been working for banks in senior management positions for many years. I have never been limited in making deposits to my bank accounts previously. After receiving a check from my sister to repay me for funds I lent to her, I was told I could not make that deposit in your bank as it was too large? I was further told that I had to mail that check to your bank if I wanted to make the transaction. What a joke! It was only $3000, not $300,000! I had to deposit the amount in another one of my banks and then do an electronic transfer. Seems to be a wasteful process and unsecured way to just make a small deposit in your bank. How would a business ever survive using your bank as their depository? Very disgusted.
