I was a Fitbit user for five years and spent $10 a month to access my HRV data, but I still couldn't figure out how to improve it. That all changed when I switched to the iPhone and stumbled upon Athlytic. Athlytic takes workout gamification to a whole new level. Each morning, I eagerly check my "readiness" to train, which indicates my heart's stress level and exercise capacity. What sets this app apart is its “exertion” section and “target exertion” feature. Using Athlytic, I quickly realized I wasn't pushing myself enough during workouts – my heart actually had a greater capacity to train than I initially thought. Knowing this has been incredibly motivating. Now, when I see that target exertion goal, I'm determined to reach it. Instead of trying to fit in an extra video game during my limited free time as a new parent, I make an effort to sneak in more exercise. In just two months of using Athlytic, I've made significant progress in improving my HRV, and I feel fantastic. I'm exercising more, establishing better sleep habits, and feeling great overall. On the negative side: the app's responsiveness could be smoother when navigating between pages, and the logo and name don’t fully do justice to just how great this app is, but that’s just my opinion. A huge thank you to Gary the app’s developer (who is pretty responsive via email). Athlytic has been a game changer in my life, and I can confidently say that the premium version is absolutely worth it.
Best Health + Fitness App I’ve Ever Used
Funkjunkeechic
I have used dozens of different health and fitness apps for tracking sleep, fitness, training readiness… you name it I’ve probably downloaded it. Every app seems to have a specific segment covered but nothing comprehensive. I’m in many Reddit health and fitness groups and they all mentioned how great this app is. I had to try it out. Let me tell you. Athlytic is the master of all apps. Everything you could possibly need all in one app. I look at it first thing in the morning to see my sleep, my Recovery on how to train for the day, details into my HRV, RHR, trends, menstrual cycle and how that cues my workouts, and tons more. I look at it throughout the day to see my Battery to guide me on when I have peak performance or if I should take an easier recovery day. I am serious about measuring my health and tracking, and I train 5-6 days a week. I log food, sleep via my Apple Watch, weight, etc. Everything is put together in a meaningful and well designed interface. The devs and constantly making updates and improvements and respond when you have questions/comments/requests. I would be lost without Athlytic!! It is the most comprehensive and informative app I’ve used to measure, guide and coach my fitness. There are devices and subscriptions that don’t do nearly the value of what Athlytic offers for only $30/yr. Look no further. Athlytic is all you need!
Awesome.

Athlytic has the metrics dialed right in. I’m currently ramping up my training regimen in time for summer and have been using it to help “coach” me on how hard or easy to push myself on a 5-day-on, 2-day-off exercise regimen. Every day where I feel well-rested and ready to hit the gym or track, the app reflects that and recommends I train that day, and even gives suggestions on which activities I could do to help reach the exertion level it’s looking for, and every day I’ve felt underslept or recovering from the day before, the app reflects that as well, and recommends I take the day off. I’ve only been using it for about 6 weeks at this point but it has quickly earned its place in my little suite of exercise apps and I already find it indispensable. 10/10 recommend.* Update as of November 2023: The app continues to be improved, new features added that are actually beneficial and UI elements that are well-designed. Can’t recommend this app enough for any athlete, especially if you have an Apple Watch, as it “unlocks” some truly useful functions of the watch that Apple hasn’t implemented into their own apps very well. I’ve literally used this app to help me decide when I can return to work after being sick because it has such accurate readings of my respiratory rate, heart rate variable, resting heart rate, and wrist temperature. Please download and support the developer. S+ Rank app.
Fantastic🥳

I very rarely have written reviews on apps, but I had to in this case. I signed up for the paid version last August, and since then this has become the first app I check every morning to see my recovery score, log my items from the day before, and compare with how I feel. It’s certainly modified my behaviors to try to improve my recovery and sleep performance, and the data from workouts using my Apple Watch is summarized in a fantastic and easy to understand way. My wife was hesitant at first, but now she is also obsessed with the app and uses it daily as well. The developer is responsive if you have any issues, and he’s consistently released new features and updates that have improved the overall experience. Widgets on iOS are great, and I’ve got a couple on my lock screen, and then the widget panel just off my Home Screen. I had debated Whoop for a long time, but couldn’t get past the cost of switching and the monthly membership model. In the end I decided I loved my Apple Watch and Athlytic provides me with essentially all the same information at a much more reasonable price point. I can’t praise this app and developer enough, thanks for the great experience!

-Sleep Debt coaching improved
Bug Fixes:
-Fixed an issue (due to Apple Health limitations) where workout types on the watch app would reset if you didn't do a type of workout in the past 7 days
-Fixed an issue where 3rd party apps (e.g. WorkOutDoors) might show inaccurate HR zone times
-Fixed a bug where the Net Energy widget could show stale data, especially for users in timezones ahead of UTC.
