Sure, you *could* just use Apple Weather, it’s basic but does the job. Or you could uninstall Apple Weather and take something more advanced for a spin.I’ve been using this app since Apple bought and shutdown DarkSky. The price has risen significantly since my purchase, but if you hate ads sucking up data and pixels, and need access to timely and detail weather conditions, this is the app to get. I particularly like the variety of sources the app pulls together for storm alerts, and the lightning alerts are particularly useful at work.Cons - No dark mode. None, it’s just not there. The interface is starting to feel dated and has a few elements better suited for a 2012 website. Signing into the app does nothing that I can see — I was hoping it could sync settings and alerts across devices, i.e. if I dismiss a storm alert on my phone, it should auto clear off my iPad too.The widgets need to be updated to support iOS 17 and the watchOS complication needs some attention.Re: watchOS — The complication only supports a handful of watch faces, which is annoying for such a pricey app. The complication also does not update itself in the background. It will retain the same weather data for days, even if you’re 200 miles from the last location where you opened the watch app. The app itself is slow on my Watch Ultra and doesn’t dynamically update in the background. Getting it to update to current location and conditions is a chore. Weather alerts, at least stuff from NOAA, should push to the watch imo.
My Favorite Weather App

I really like this app - I have the regular weather app on my iPhone and I have this one. The weather forecasting on weather seems historically to be more accurate. Also it gives me several features which I use regularly and have come to depend on: perhaps the most important of these is weather alerts from the national weather service regional service office. These alerts include things like winter storm warnings, high wind warnings, severe weather (hail) warnings, flood warnings, etc. it tells how far away the lightening strikes occurring in the last 30 minutes are. In the winter these are typically over 1000 miles, but in the summer they can be less than a mile. I like the radar view feature, the highway camera view feature, the detailed hour by hour feature. This is really a great app and I use it a lot! Many thanks to the provider!
Voiceover accessibility STILL broken
Benjamin from CA
Edit June 17. Another update installed and all the problem still exist. I was able to get their direct address but never got a response. I get the feeling from the lack of a real response that they’re just hoping I will go away. Almost 4 months now and counting. Previous Edit: looking at the response apparently all the developer is doing is cutting and pasting a generic response instead of actually reading the review. As I mentioned in my original review they have not updated their app to support the fact that not all of us use the default mail app so there is no way to send them additional information or diagnostic data. If you are a visually impaired person I strongly advise you to use any other app other than this one. My original review is left below. The most recent update to weather bug that came out a couple of weeks ago has completely broken voiceover functionality for the visually impaired on the Now page of the app. This means information such as current conditions, air quality, lightning, wind speed direction, and much more is no longer available to those who rely on a screen reader due to being visually impaired. This is a definite case of newer is not better. Hoping this is an issue that can be resolved. To add insult to injury the send feedback portion of their app has not been updated to support the fact that iOS 14 allows you to select an email option other than the default mail app. I have used weather bug as my go to for over a decade so hoping this problem gets fixed sooner rather than later.

Hi there, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. WeatherBug supported the voice-over accessibility feature until recently. However, it got disabled during our last update. We assure you this is a critical issue to us, and our team is working to enable the voice accessibility feature as soon as possible. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Our team will let you know when this issue is fixed. Thank you. - WeatherBug Team
Air quality is not accurate. Widget problems. Alerts don’t work. Maps don’t always load

Forecast isn’t necessarily accurate. Could be better Your iPhone and iPad widget needs to be fixed! The real feel temperature does not show the real feel temperature that it shows in the app. It shows the temperature as the real feel. No support at all for complications like temp, humidity, rain, air quality, pollen, etc. Currently offers bare bones support for watch complications on a few faces. Be nice if they would use the air quality monitoring system that is actually accurate. Wish they would integrate Purple Air into their system instead of Ambee. None of the weather alerts work. The only way you get an alert is if you open the app. Pointless. You don’t get alerts in the background. Sometimes the maps just shows a blank screen. Also why not make the map animate when opening so I don’t have to click on the play button? The whole point of me looking at the map is to look at the radar. Just make the radar automatically play. Be nice if someone actually did a QA check before publishing updates! Kind of sorry I paid for this…
