Please bring back the cost breakdown

Update: July ‘25 | Outside sensor temps are back! Excellent. Now please bring back the cost breakdown of the usage. I used to be able to see how much the electric heat cost vs heat pump heat, etc. Please bring that feature back too and then the app will be back in my good graces. Original review below until then. Original Review: This app is just fine. It’s acceptable. But it removed features that I had in the old app. It was very important to see the temperature outside at the actual compressor. If the temperature seemed abnormally high or low it gave me an indication of needing to clean the coils. Please bring this feature back. I don’t need another app telling me what the temperature is from an RSS feed from a weather service at a weather station that’s somewhere near my house. I can get that on 1 million other apps. Also, bring back the ability to see what portion of the unit was costing money. It was very useful to see the breakdown of what was costing what. Why would you remove features that were on the old app?

Good HVAC hardware, disappointing app makes premium features pointlessInstalled Carrier heat pump system with ERV and 3-zone setup with MERV 15 filtration. The equipment itself performs well, but the Infinity app is surprisingly limited for a premium smart system.Major gaps:- No ERV monitoring or control through the app whatsoever. During California wildfire season, I can’t remotely switch between fresh air and recirculation modes when AQI spikes - have to walk to the thermostat every time.- Zero integration with HomeKit or Matter, so no automation based on outdoor air quality sensors or scheduled filter runtime optimization.- No filter pressure monitoring or change reminders despite having differential pressure sensors. With 3 zones and MERV 15 filters, I’m guessing on maintenance intervals instead of getting data-driven alerts.- Much of the data displayed isn’t actionable - shows me things are running but doesn’t let me adjust or automate based on that information.Starting to regret paying the premium for Carrier’s ecosystem over a competitor with better software integration. The hardware investment deserves app functionality that actually leverages the sensors and capabilities already installed. Until they add ERV control and smart home platform integration, you’re better off with a basic system and third-party smart controls.

Not the experience I expected

For a $$$ HVAC system, this app does not deliver the expected experience. It never shows the system status in real time- it always shows idle when the wall controller shows heating or cooling, so it’s not reliable for remote monitoring to make sure the system is working (for example, if you’re away and the system fails to restart after a power outage - which happened to me!). I also miss being able to see usage for the current day, along with basic charts of use. The first generation smart thermostat that this system replaced had an app that did all of these things! I’m baffled how other technology companies manage to deliver more functional app experiences and Carrier falls short of expectations. Something like a SensorPush sensor and app delivers a much better experience. Are you developing this app in house or partnering with a vendor to manage it? There is a clear disconnect between the premium marketing materials for a top dollar system and the actual app UI… I do appreciate the recent releases that appear to be attempting to address issues but plenty of users have the same feedback.

Updated review, now the app has even less information. Air is blowing at a high rate in my family room. I have no idea why, so I look at the app… it says my system is idle. I go to the thermostat, no information. Temperature is at the low end of the range, and the air is cold, it’s winter… why are we cooling the house in winter? So frustrating, and on top of it my HVAC company decided to retire and close up shop. I’ve talked to a few people, but most don’t know the system or won’t touch it. We spent tens of thousands of dollars on a heat pump system with 3 zones and all the bells and whistles… only to have an app that is portly designed, require numerous taps just to change something. The most frustrating part is the fact that now I get asked to enroll in some stupid demand savings program so my utility can shut off my air on a hot day. What a joke. I’m sure the utility is paying them to enroll me, so now I get countless pop adds every time I open the app. Please give me control and make it simple and easy.
