For years, I have used the website for registering my Ryobi tools. Unfortunately, I have never had a good experience with the website working on the first try. Many times I had to login, upload the receipt, logout, log back in, and then try to upload the tool. Even then, I had to log out and log back in to enter the tool serial number and connect it to the receipt. NOW! This app is a clean process where I can execute the whole process within minutes. The app is also significantly better to view my Ryobi toolbox. I would 100% refer others to use the app.

I never write reviews. I love my Ryobi tools. Maybe not as sturdy as some other leading brands, but certainly great for an intermediate to advanced DIY-er. My tools have stood up well. However, this Ryobi app experience was inordinately frustrating. After signing over access to my location, and having no functional option to restrict marketing cookies (I could click to opt out but had no submit option, and had to select allow all), I then tried to register a purchase. Sigh. The app would not accept a pdf or photo of the Home Depot online purchase, nor would it let me manually enter data: they say they accept order or receipt number; the online HD statement only has order number; the system, in fact, will not accept order number. Arrgh. The registration was (allegedly) mostly successful, sans receipt. Hmm, I also tried online registration, thinking I shouldn’t have fallen for the “try our spiffy app” suggestion. Online, no better. It doesn’t show the allegedly semi-successful app registration. Hmm. The online registration system accepted the order document — great, this is gonna work— but the system won’t accept my product number. Grrr arrgh. Enough, already. I’ll plan on the tool working just fine, as usual, and hope that I don’t need to rely on registration or the dysfunctional Ryobi app (which I happily deleted).

When I first started using this app it seemed very cool. It SEEMED easy to register products, the products were recognized from receipt, at least the first time, you can scan barcode for SN etc. Then the experience went downhill and I almost feel like trashing my Ryobi tools because their dang registration process is so horrible!!! I’ve had products I had to try registering multiple times before succeeding… I’ve had products I simply cannot register… Sometimes it doesn’t recognize a receipt.. To say Ryobi has created a HORRIBLE user experience here is putting it lightly. And guess what? If you get angry with the app and want to just use the website going forward you are in for a surprise, NOTHING in my profile synced with website login!!!! When I tried putting sn in to redo everything on the website, I couldn’t even put a serial number in!!!! Thus Ryobi’s entire account management system, this app and their website are trash!!!! I hope I never need service on products I couldn’t register through their garbage app & website platforms!!!!

Home Depot had a great bundle purchase on several items for Black Friday. If I were to purchase these items without the bundles and savings, it would've cost me $500 more than it did. I ended up spending just over $300 for a reciprocating saw, impact driver, multitool, drill, lamp, circular saw. It's allowed me to take advantage of another deal. I was able to get two battery a charger plus one free tool, which ended up being a string trimmer. i've used Ryobi tools on the job with a friend of mine and they seemed to work just fine. Even though these are not the 20 watt tools, they should be plenty powerful for what I need to do personally. Thanks, RYOBI and Home Depot for work together to get this deal to me. I've been wanting these tools for such a long time, I just couldn't afford them.
