I normally will not read newspapers on line, but the Free Press app is really easy to read and find what section you want. This is the best newspaper app that I have and I definitely will keep reading it! My complaint I'm now having is that the advice column is terrible - sometimes there aren't any new questions for days - my Oakland Press has new ones daily in Dear Abby....sigh! Line Dancing Grandma The advice columns aren't any better....they disappear for days - what happens?. I just changed the number of review stars to one...why, because again and again columns are disappearing, especially the advice columns!! I will close the app if this doesn’t clear up. This has gone on for days - I have been a Free Press reader for years and really like this app since we go to Florida. This app is getting worse and worse! Is there a reason why certain sections are not updated daily! I will no longer recommend this app to my snowbird friends from the Detroit area - please do not ask me to rate this app again unless you’ve fixed this problem! Now I can’t even read the regular sections! There’s a title, but when I click on it, there’s a blank screen with black photo squares. This is a horrible app and I’m going! to need to cancel it! This is happening again - HELP!

The Freep provides depth to issues touching our local community with solid reporting. The format for the delivered news is solid and is easier to read than online App articles. (though I miss the larger print copy).Iusw the App daily as print is not available. The App seem a to have too many ad interruptions and non-relavant as content. I may need switch to reading the appbprivided “print” version. Which has seemed difficult in the small screen.
Sports is not breaking news!

This app is easy to use and I’m grateful to have a local paper that I can subscribe to! Unfortunately the Detroit free press uses the heading “Breaking News” a little too leniently. It actually seems that they use it only to share sports news. Breaking news is not sports. Breaking news is active shooters in our area, or updates on US war relations with other countries or literally anything other than what’s happening between two teams. I’m afraid to turn off notifications for breaking news because what if something actually important happens locally or in the world? Because of this, I get basically 2-10 breaking news updates a day about the lions. Now, I care about the lions! I want to see them win! But I don’t need multiple breaking news updates about them. I think the free press is straying away from journalistic integrity by doing this and I would be forever grateful to the editor or person in control of app notifications if they could reign this in. Please, I beg you, use the breaking news headline for actual breaking news.
New version. Same problem
Triedbutnot
So many errors and you can’t even leave feedback from a feedback page that is just whiteAds that auto start and cannot be paused even though there is a button for that. Shame on freep. They are unable to correctly mark subscriber only articles. They mark some but most you find out when you click on them. It’s simple so are they after click bait to claim they are read or is it like their research for stories that they just don’t careThey have solved the comma splice by just rewriting the rules. Out with the comma, in with the dashJust one sided psa and fear mongering. Plain biasNot doing the community any favorsI like the big white screen where an article should be. This part seems to be consistentBig white screen where leaving feedback should exist but well they don’t want people’s feedbackLot of typographical errors but with feedback showing just a write page……..Strange that what should be to national news is not mentioned. Maybe soon they will fix their feedback but i doubt itIt is a challenge to read when as you are scrolling ads will load and the page will jump and now you have to scroll in the opposite directionWould be nice if they pretended to care by fixing their feedback page. Maybe they could use AI to program it as what they are doing now is not working
