The Thrive app also gives you access to Healthable features like social engagement and activity tracking. You can set goals and your Engagement Score and Activity Score will track how close you are to meeting them daily. The Thrive app also offers information services like Thrive Assistant, Translate, Transcribe, and Self Check, which lets you check your hearing aid performance without an office visit.

And that’s just the beginning. Thrive also offers:

EDGE MODE
Industry-leading sound performance provides you with instantaneous adjustments for the most challenging listening situations.

REMOTE CONTROL

PERSONALIZED MEMORIES

You can use the Thrive app to share helpful information like physical activity, hearing aid usage and social engagement with people you select and who have the new Thrive Care app. This helps you maintain independence and provides peace of mind for the Thrive Care users you share with.

SELF CHECK
Allows you to perform a diagnostic test of your hearing aid components without having to make an office visit.

TRANSCRIBE
It’s like closed captioning for real life. Conversations are transcribed so you can read what's being said.

TELEHEAR™

Lacks documentation

I really like that the app lets you adjust and customize your experience with your hearing aids. I just wish that some of the adjustment features were explained more thoroughly. For example, the background noise adjustments for speech, noise, and wind. The icons at each ends of the slider are not intuitive. Is it the noise you hear from minimum to maximum, or is it the amount of correction for noise, from minimum to maximum. I’ve experimented with the wind setting, and I can’t really tell much difference. A little explanation would really help guide that experimentation to see if I notice a more pronounced difference over time.

In addition, the user guide appears to be missing some of the features available in the app, and other features listed in the user guide cannot be found in the app. For instance, the Translate tool is mentioned in the guide, but I can’t find it anywhere in the app itself. Also, there is a button on the volume control that isn’t explained anywhere in the user guide. It’s like the app was updated, but the user guide wasn’t. App version 3.1.0

Better documentation of features and updating the guide would turn this app from 3 stars to 5.

Thank you for your feedback. The user guide should state 'Set the level of background noise reduction desired for your current memory. Tap to the right for more background noice reduction.' In your words it would be from minimum to maximum. The button on the volume control screen might be the comfort boost option. The list of features is set based on the highest level of technology you can acquire from Starkey. The user guide isn't dynamic based on your device.

Apps Shouldn’t Make Life More Difficult.

There have been so many issues over the course of a year that I don’t know where to begin.
The app freezes at random and even restarting the phone doesn’t help.
TV Streaming stops working at random and cannot be reengaged and it may be hours before TV Streaming can be reengaged.
The equalization resets at random.
The volume of the mic and stream reset every time the phone screen turns off.
Even hearing professionals I’ve visited are boggled by the app behavior.
It seems the only features of the app that work are those that track your “engagement” or “activity”.
The disappointment towards this app is simply not measurable.

Pleasantly suprised!

Read some of the review and not sure people understand Bluetooth is only able to connect to one device at a time. I see a lot who are not happy they have to turn of Bluetooth on phone to connect to iPad. This is a bluetooth issue and not an app issue. This will always be the case until Bluetooth is advanced and updated. Also remember the Bluetooth connection comes from the phone/iPad not the hearing aid. If you have issues with dropping connections make sure you don’t have it set up on both. I only keep app on my phone and the connection has been strong. I do connect to my Ipad when I have the need but have never put the app on there. At first it would try to switch between them and I would get streaming in one ear. I changed the apple hand off feature to off and have had good results. I was advised to toggle Bluetooth on/off if there is ever an issue to renew the connection. I have several Bluetooth speakers and have done the same if the connection is lost. Bluetooth is not the strongest signal. Hence the reason you can use it on an airplane. It will and can be broken by other frequency interference. I believe in the last 30 days I have cycled my Bluetooth connection twice. I also turn my phone off weekly as Apple recommends. Overall I feel this is the best Hearing aid I have owned out of five previous sets in my 30 years of hearing loss.
