I really loved using the app until the most recent set of updates. When creating a new claim, it now has a bullet list of options. It would be helpful if this defaulted to favourites instead of new. The favourites listed then only show the company name and no longer show the description. I have three therapists from the same company at the moment so I just have the company name listed three times and have to click on each one to figure out which to pick for the correct therapist. This allows for my expenditure to be grouped by therapy type, not just company. It’s frustrating to use now where before it was a lovely, smooth process. Otherwise the app itself is clean and easy to use and has been reliable with no issues. It would be great if the “review details” page included the name of the child so I could double check at that point that I am claiming against the correct account (I have two children with NDIS). But generally, great work guys! Keep it up!

Initially I had no problem with this app. I was able to upload my profile as a representative for my 6 year old and was told it was how I can use his consumables fund to claim purchases. When I first tried to use it I kept getting a ‘Something went wrong’ error with no explanation as to what exactly. Was there missing information? Did my receipt not upload? Nope, not telling. Just an infuriating graphic of a person looking confusedly at an electrical chord 😬. So, I leave it for a few days, try again today and I cannot get past a purple screen that just says ‘who are you representing? Nothing to click. I then decide that maybe I just need to re-upload the app. I do this, put in my details, go through everything, get the check mark, starts again. Ok… try again, get the check mark, says to sign in again. I really need this app to work and it just won’t. Now I have a $300 consumables receipt that I only have a few days to claim before his funding runs out. Will try calling the help-line but when the first thing you hear is ‘we are experiencing a high number of calls’ you know your going to be on the phone for hours 😔. No response to email query either. Oh yes! And that was also atrocious as well! I kept getting an error saying ‘postcode must only have numbers’ which it did, until finally it just seemed to go through after about 6 attempts!

I’ve been self-managing my NDIS budget for three years now, and was initially reluctant to use the app, because I’ve sometimes found that government technology is sub par. The good news is that using the app (as at April 2023 anyway) is an improvement on managing my budget on the clunky NDIS web portal. The app was reasonably quick to come to grips with, but just took some time initially to enter the details of my usual providers. Once saved in the system though, I can now just click on that provider’s details each time I have one of their invoices to claim. This also eliminates the website’s annoying duplicated steps of repeating a provider’s details each time I make a claim, plus having to upload a copy of their invoice in a separate screen. It’s pretty seamless in the app. Do remember to save your provider’s details though, so you don’t need to do it each time.One criticism though is that the history of requests/payment of past invoices which I made the website are not yet available on the app. I think I accidentally applied for the same provider invoice to be paid in the app, having previously applied on the website. The website immediately picks up those user errors and gives a warning. The app didn’t. I try to keep accurate records myself, but it was handy to have the NDIS portal let me know, and stop me from mistakenly entering an invoice twice. Hopefully that error message is soon included in the app.So far so good though, and a thumbs up to those responsible for developing and introducing the app.

Just tried out the app for the first time, and apart from a little bit of faffing to find out my NDIS number, it was very quick and easy to use, and a lot less fiddling about than using the myGov version. I liked that you could easily search up previous claims, which was very difficult to do on the myGov site. The only minor niggle was when claiming something purchased as a consumable. It wanted a time frame for ‘support date’ so it was treating it as a service rather than consumable, but I just gave today’s date and it seemed to accept that. But overall a very smooth experience. 👍
