The app is slow but I see you are working on that. I was hoping it could be adapted to show a break down of usage throughout the day. Eg, peak and off peak usage, showing the hours so I can see exactly what I’m using at any particular time of the day. My previous retailer had a break down in 30min increments across a 24 hour period, then a total usage in peak and one in off peak and solar. Like all new things it takes time to get use to, and I know everyone sets things up different. Would be fantastic to have the 24 hour, 30 minute increment breakdown, seperate peak and off peak totals and a solar fit total. I know retailers do reads on smart meters every 30mins across a day, well at least my last one did. Cheers thanks. New Engie customer.Update to your response, yes I can check the meter every 30 minutes, then that will render your clunky slow app useless. Who needs an app when I can just read my meter. Isn’t the app there for us to get all the information we need to monitor our usage in one place. Other retailers I’ve used have it as a standard feature, Engie should at least look into it.

Why’d you randomly change our information to a new app without warning? You should have sent a letter out explaining this so we could all jump onto the new app informed instead of logging into the my app then being told it no longer exists. What if I wanted to change provider because you’re shifting my information around to new apps without my awareness. If that’s what you were trying to stop, people changing because they don’t like the change you’re implementing - face the truth then. Face your fears. Everyone hates the new app it sounds terrible. The old app wouldn’t even send a notification letting you know its bill time. C’mon simply energy, you’re a professional power supplier. How many years has this been in business for now and you can’t even get it right. You can’t even tell your customers when their bills are due. Why would I waste time looking at an app that doesn’t tell me much. Seriously simply energy, you’re in the big game league yet you’re not thinking big.

Useless app

Well it is still a useless app. I have three monthly bills but the estimation of my next bill is in six months time. The ability to look at daily usage is now worthless because you can no longer specify a time period and displaying a whole years’ usage gives you a meaningless squiggle. I still have my old address attached to my account. It is unbelievable that a company name change has resulted in such a useless app. The major issue with the previous app was the 2 factor authentication when trying to access correspondence within the app. Now there doesn’t even seem to be somewhere to raise issues. Suddenly accounts from my previous address have been reattached to my account. There is nowhere to check that concessions have been applied (and nowhere to advise of concession status in the first place - this used to be a great feature of Simply Energy over other energy providers). If you click on ‘Manage account’ you can’t get back to the main menu. Whoever is responsible for this should be sacked.

Very clunky and delivers poor end user experience

I downloaded the app today after realising that the old ‘Simply Energy’ app has been discontinued and replaced with this. Just trying to get registered to use it was an ordeal. I reckon I had to have about 5 or 6 attempts as it would fail each time after I gave it my email details. When eventually I did get all the way through the registration process and went to sign in, the sign in button did nothing. After surmounting that frustrating process somehow, I went to submit an enquiry about my account, only to discover a message telling me I could send the enquiry because I could not use special characters. Until I went back and removed all the punctuation, a pair of brackets, and changed the $ symbol to the word dollars I could not send the enquiry. How stupid to build an app that won’t permit you to punctuate your sentences! This is not an app that gives a very good end user experience in my view.
