Key features of the Business Banking App:

You can use this app if:

• you are an existing business current account customer with maximum 12 accounts
• you already use The Co-operative Bank Business Online Banking; and
• you don’t have anyone set up as an approver of changes, i.e. payment approvals.

Gaining access

To gain access to our app you will need to register and agree to our Business Online Banking Terms and Conditions if you haven’t already done so and our Business Mobile Banking Service Terms and Conditions. Once you have done so, you will need your Customer ID, User ID and HID Approve mobile security app or physical plastic security token.

Is my phone compatible?

For security reasons, you’ll need a compatible device and operating system to use our Business Banking App. You won’t be able to use the app if your device is jailbroken.

You’ll need a device running iOS 15 or above.

If you are not able to update to this version, you can log into The Co-operative Bank Business Online Banking to access your accounts.

Terms of use

We collect non-personal user data to monitor how well the app works. For example, measuring how long you spend on a particular screen. We collect a limited amount of personal data to allow you to use the app, for fraud prevention purposes and to help us to fix problems and improve the app for everyone. Everyone is opted into this feature. If you do not want us to process your personal data in this way, please delete the app. If you download the app, you consent to sharing how you use it. Staying safe

To protect our customers we use a range of security measures including the latest encryption technology.

There are still a few things you can do to protect yourself using the app.

Remember to:

• only download the app from official app stores
• never share your login details with anyone
• keep your details out of sight when logging on in a public place
• always install the latest security and operating system updates.

Please note:
We won’t charge you for downloading or using the app. However, your mobile network provider may charge you for data use, depending on your tariff or contract. Contact your operator for details. You may also use this service when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Let’s hope the Update works

Once again trying to log on to the app on 6th Oct and the app freezes while trying to open.
Little wonder the app has the deplorable 1.6 / 5 rating.
When are you going to sort this, it’s been going on for years.
Look at the HSBC app first time every time

Every poor review receives the same bland response from Michelle who I think must be totally embarrassed with the amount of terrible reviews she has to respond to. Every person is saying the same thing but as a business Coop Business Banking are just not addressing the issues. Even since the app update I have had log on issues. Had it not been for the FSB / COOP bank link I would have left Coop months / years ago, I am totally amazed that the senior management are not looking at these ongoing awful reviews and ensuring something is done or making sure heads roll for poor performance. It’s all very well saying contact customer service but as a business you make it virtually impossible to speak to the right person, just to get fobbed off by them or Michelle is just not acceptable. If I ran my business like the Coop Bank I would have folded a long time ago. The Coop Business banking app has to be one of the worst ever, I am amazed it has taken so many months to address the issues which have been well documented. I sincerely do hope that this app update does resolve the issues, tying to operate a business with such a poor tool is deplorable

Constant Issues

When it works, it’s OK, though still a LONG way from where it should be.

Making payments sometimes works fine. Then next time, it will get to point of submitting the request, only for the “processing” graphic to spin round and round for an age and then either report a failure or just get stuck and you have to force-close the app and start again.

Other times, the app will just lock up shortly after going from one screen to another.

Another annoyance is that when looking at you transaction history, the app does not show enough information. It will either show the account name for the account the transaction was made with or the transaction reference. You can’t touch on the entry to see more information. Then next time you login, the transaction entry may show the opposite information. It makes working out what payments have been received much harder. If you login to the Online Banking via a web browser, you can see more information, but for some reason, that information hasn’t been made available in the app, which is very frustrating.

Co-op really need to sort out their whole online banking experience, and especially the app, as trying to run a business is being made much harder by the poor quality banking tools, and I am very much considering moving to someone else where such issues are not an issue.

In 2023 a UK bank has an App like this

This has to be the most basic bank app on a phone I have ever seen. The security Coop offers really frustrates me but if it protects the money fair enough, even though fraud was still committed on my account a couple of years ago.
Getting back to the app, I can’t fathom how the dept who runs this app would be so tight in the funds dept to not have gone to a proper developer to produce an app a UK bank should be offering. The facilities it offers are so basic you have to go online and not via your phone browser but a Laptop etc it’s like they know how to do it properly but on purpose made it difficult and use security as a reason. It’s supposed to be difficult for the fraudsters not the user fgs. Right now because I didn’t log in to my account for a 3 weeks it’s logged me out and now I have to do the whole registration process again. Please Coop direct some of the bonus’s to the fat cats to the App instead and stop closing branches too. Merry Christmas
