I support what Hertz is trying to do and the app is well presented. However:

1. I wasn’t able to book with my business card nor my first preferred personal card because the ‘server did not recognise the name.’ This is frustrating and means I now have to invoice my business personally which means additional admin. Ideally, there would be a button or phone number on the card details page that we could call in order to give our card details the old fashioned way should tech fail us.

2. It took me an age to work out how to sign up to the scheme. There are plenty of login options, but no obvious register options. Neither on the website or on the Apple app. Instead you have to press ‘start’ in the app to find a vehicle and then you get the option to create an account. Ideally, there would be an option to ‘register’ at the login tab so that simpletons like me don’t get frustrated.

Fix these things and it will be a wonderful app.

I acknowledge that writing this review has wasted more of my time, but I do feel that I have vented enough frustration in writing this so as to restore my ‘zen.’ This will means I’m now calm enough to carry on with work!

Registering via the App is not clear.
It took a while to work out that you need to start making a vehicle booking to then be able to register.
It was not clearly explained that this was the case
It would be better to have a ‘register’ option on the app menu when you first download it
This would save time and make the process clearer

Service is called 24/7 but can’t reserve outside of times that B&Q is open. You will almost certainly have to call customer service on day of reservation. Had several technical problems when trying to reserve, including not passing background driving check, but customer service ran the check a second time, and it went through, even though all info was the same. The demonstration pics online don’t say your selfie must include your drivers license. The file size limit for uploaded pics was so small I couldn’t just submit my pics and I had to email them to customer service directly. It took me 45 minutes after my selected time to actually get the vehicle started. On the upside, renting was so difficult, that the van is almost always there because no one else bothers to go through steps to rent it.
